I love this poem. I grew up around Montauk in Long Island and I always love it when people from the city visit. Yeah, it's annoying when they don't know basic stuff (like the cat, really) but it's cute and heartwarming to think the place where I've lived my whole life and still love today is some vacation or get away for someone else. I guess I take it for granted l

it's very clear pal, which is, in some places (peaceful ones), you do things just for fun, for relaxation but in other places (like cities or the places people rush to just to make ends meet) people desperately do that same thing but for making a living. In general, Sarah wants to express that Montauk is a very peaceful place, where she feels life 'slows down' everytime she comes there. You're welcome!

I only discovered her recently because of my girlfriend who told me she started slam poetry all because of her and I can definitely see why. Sarah Kay does this thing where she lends you moments of her life and for those few moments you get to see life through her eyes and its the most beautiful ever.
