If you’ve finished Buffy, I recommend the Angel series next cuz Spike bops over to that in later seasons. Also, the comic books continue the story from where the tv shows leave off. Both Buffy, Angel, and Spike all have their own omnibus collections I believe, showing one-off stories of their past, present, and future. And then there‘s the main Buffy comic where if you get to the ‘Twilight’ storyline (yes I swear, it’s called that) it finally brings them all back together and we see what they’ve been up to. I know the comics continue past that, but I haven’t kept up. Although I do know Giles and Faith got their own split-off storyline continuation as well which was interesting.

@@basilsayshi James Marsters was on a podcast over lockdown and he was asked about that episode. He said he has never watched it, and really REALLY didn't want to film that scene and asked for it to be changed. At the very least he thought it would ruin his career, but he said at one point he ended up crouched in a corner sobbing between takes because it brought up so much hurt as he loves people who have been affected by this issue. Apparently the script writer was a woman and the idea for the scene was taken from her experience of pursuing an ex boyfriend who didn't want to be with her and kicked her out. With the gender swap, the situation and the characters involved the writing team should've flagged it or treated the episode with more care. I think James was on Michael Rosenbaum's podcast. I highly recommend listening to both episodes he was on. He seems like such a kind man.

im a '97 woman, im 26 yo now, I was able to see it from 2000 onwards because I am Italian. i grew up with buffy and the show will always be in my heart. i saw again every episode last week after 4/5 years of not doing yet another rewatch was so... i don't know how to descrive it. I danced on the bed with my sister every time the theme song was on, I cried, I laughed so much, I could never forget it and I could never feel bad seeing it, it makes me happier to relive those moments. yes, I felt a sort of melancholy, but I also felt joy, the memories came back to me. I thought about what I felt for 7 years, every week, waiting to see another episode, I felt the same sensations I felt when seeing Buffy, Xander, Willow, Spike and Giles. As much as it hurts to think back on the fact that it's over, I could never feel anything other than happyiness at seeing it again. I swear on anything I'll bring it with me into the grave.

Well if we count the death in “prophecy girl” we have to count the one after Warren shot her. In prophecy girl they said she was dead because she wasn’t breathing. Well after Warren shot her and willow entered the OR and sent the doctors out, Buffy’s EKG flatlined meaning her heart wasn’t beating. Heart not beating surely is as much death as not breathing. Afterall the brain can go 4 minutes without oxygen before the brain cells start to die. It was only a few seconds but like Buffy said to her mom in 3x3 about her prophecy girl death “it was only for like a minute”

Buffy was my childhood hero. Not my biggest female childhood hero, but biggest childhood hero. I see how Buffy is a show about female empowerment and feminism etc…. But the show isn’t exclusive. I always loved her because she was a good role model and I indentified with her. Same with Jessica jones. Buffy and Jessica jones, to me are the strong female superhero thing done right. They empower the women without compromising their characterization, including imperfections. They’re able to put the women up without putting the men down.
