I want to thank that guy who paid me such a nice compliment when I was playing piano for Sass on this concert. All I can say is that it still stays in my memory after all these long years. She still is, for many people, and myself included, at the top of the list as the all time truly great singers, and I had the privilege of playing for her. Frank Collett

Sarah Vaughan not only had taste; she had class.. Her voice is unforgettable and unlike so many voices, it is a legitimate musical tool- most expressive and most imaginative.

My wife and I were so honored to have seen her perform at the Hult Performing Arts Center in Eugene, OR in late-1984. Hands down, the finest jazz singer ever to grace our world. May she Rest In Peace.

There's more wit, wisdom and poetry in any Gershwin or Cole Porter intro than in all of today's rap-crap combined. Sassy Vaughan interprets the songs of that era like nobody else.
