That describes 90% of products you see when you scroll through TikTok, FB, and IG. Those products are still a baseline for thousands of multi-million brands. Building an e-commerce brand takes a lot more than just a patent, it's all about marketing and branding.

And yet he sold 20.000 units, with no marketing or social media budget. A product with no patent or barrier to entry, yet some Dragons knew nothing about it. Meaning the market wasn't saturated. Meaning that they have to move quickly and develop the brand to establish themselves ahead of the competition. Oh, and the pitch is obviously edited.
@KJ_2020
@KJ_2020 3 жыл бұрын
@@Erickhetfield fair enough, anyone who sells 20,000 of something has at least got some persistance and ambition. it would have been nice to have known if he made a profit. i think most of us were just surprised that this information was not included in the edit as it normally is.

Ben should have just said of course, no problem and be optimistic about the fact that Peter liked his product. After all he is there to persuade the investors to part with their money. Wierd to counter that he will give a discount on one measly product IF Peter bought shares in his companies like on what planet does that sound reasonable or fair 🤷🏽‍♀️ and is he forgetting why he is there and who he is dealing with. Even if was just a cheeky remark he should have followed on by saying said only kidding of course, how many would you like? I'm afraid that was not a good impression on Peter.

He's now at the top of the first search results page. I understand a lot of these accepted offers never make it through once the small print is gone over, but in some cases the mere fact that the product gets exposure on DD can have dramatic and positive effects. I've no doubt the dragons are big on opt-outs and contractual parachutes. They have - on occasion - been fleeced or been willing to invest in a company that turned out to be a real stinker on closer inspection. We have a Fridja. It also strips wallpaper pretty good, too.

Pitches actually go for 2-3 hours and are edited down. There was a little discussion on camera of this, but no doubt most was off camera. In newer seasons, the people pitching usually know to say this succinctly at the start of the pitch. The real shocker is the morons from modern seasons who still don't talk figures, sales and profits.

Team @ Dragons Den: Please consider this my official application to become your audio engineer. Your shows audio levels are absolutely awful almost every single episode, and worst still they're not even consistent. It's like you give the job of balancing your tracks to a random, new intern every single time and they all invariably fail miserably. It frankly beggars belief that nobody at whichever production house responsible hasn't stopped and said "my dudes, the music on this episode is about 4 times louder than the dragons. Is this normal?". Here is my proposition, which you absolutely need to take because amateur 13 year olds can mix better than your guys: I will balance the tracks of all of your episodes as they are produced AND I am willing to do it for 5 quid and a twix per episode. Don't be embarrassed, this is an issue you share with almost every blockbuster film produced since 2006. LMK.
