True, my dog got bored (actually, I think he was insecure about his abilities) easily. BUT when he knew he could perform well, he got so proud! And he loved to learn in a pack. Show off-er...❤️

So much good information! I would love a part 2! I'm also always on the lookout for tips on working with multiple dogs. My two are doing pretty well; 1 dog does a down stay while I work tithe other one for 5 minutes & then I switch. It's much harder for my older dog to contain herself when it's not her turn especially if I'm working on something more active. For that, I put 1 dog behind a baby gate, but the older one will then bark excessively when it's not her turn. (I always work with her first, but that matters not!) I've been using a water squirt bottle with limited success. Any ideas?

THANK u for this but do I only work on one thing in each training session?

You can definitely work on more! It just depends on your dog and how they take in information. I typically aim for 2-3 things

Hi! I just stumbled upon your channel and love your tips and guidance so far, I am learning a lot from what you teach and love that you always give examples. I am going to be getting a puppy soon and plan on doing owner training for service work so I am trying to learn as much as possible. Do you have any tips for service dog training? Thanks in advance! :)

Hey! Thank you so much, I’m excited to have you here. I personally am not experienced in service dog training in particular but highly recommend you check out Emily Larlham’s channel “Dog Training by Kikopup”. Fantastic resource! kzbin.info

Would love for you to "structuring" a puppy training video. It's been years (literally) since we've had a puppy. We have suddenly found ourselves with an 8 week old Maltipoo puppy with the attention span of a gnat (and that's being generous). Two minutes is an eternity for her.

Hey Jan, I will absolutely keep that in mind and consider filming that soon.

Love it! I've been working with my six (almost seven) month old puppy for a while. He's super smart and catches on really quickly to concepts so I end up struggling with 'where to go from here' during our sessions. I did have two questions though. 1 - kind of silly but, what do you do with the treats in your treat pouch after training? Do you leave them in there or do you put them back into their original container? Do you keep different treats in the pouch, or just one kind at a time? and 2 - any tips for helping puppies/dogs to not anticipate? Mine can get so excited about training (and treats) that he'll just start throwing out anything he knows (sit, paw, lie down) to see what "works" rather than listening to what I'm asking him. He also likes to really throw himself to the floor at lightning speed, and then immediately pop back up again.

I usually use high value meats and cheese that need to be refrigerated so after training I put the treats in a container and wash out the treat bag :-)

Hey Caitlyn, great questions! It depends on what I’m working on with what different treats I use. But for most of the videos you guys see I just use one kind - I use a lot of Happy Howies that I keep in the refrigerator after I am done using them. I would suggest giving him something to do right when you enter the training session with him. Ready find it is a great game for breaking patterns like that too!
