I love the way you declutter by color category, and show great swatches. It’s very helpful as I try to downsize my collection.

While watching I finished applying my makeup and decided to do a swatch test among: The Balm's Balm Desert, Estee Edit's First Lover, Buxom's Seychelles and Jouer's Adore Me. They are almost indistinguishable from one another but I still cannot bring myself to declutter! Props to you for doing so well!

Hey, Sarah, I missed you. I figured it was probably because of the upcoming move but with the craziness going on the world these days, one always worries. It's great to know all is well at your end. You are one brave woman getting rid of all those goodies... I will look forward to the next videos and keep us updated as to the move and how things are going. Are you buying a house now or are you building or have you even decided yet? Good luck with all the packing.

I was really into neutral blushes for a while but in March, I bought the pink Dior Glow blush, a very cool toned shade and now I'm loving cool pinks again. They give a just in from the cold flush to my very fair skin that's really natural looking.

I want that dior blush! Do you like the formula? I do wish it was glowy as opposed to matte

@@leahfruchter1276 I love it! I wouldn't call it matte, it's more satin but doesn't have any shimmer or glitter. It's beautiful!

Blush....my favorite 💖 that hurt to watch but that comes with the territory of declutter videos-also oddly one of my fav types of YT videos to watch, especially yours because you are so organized and swatch everything which is a huge help!! 🙏🏼 I thought the City Color blush near the beginning was cruelty free. When you turned it over to see the shade I saw the bunny symbol on the back, or was that my eyes playing tricks on me? I have one of their blushes and love it! Let’s be real, I probably have 1 of every blush you show 😁 (haven’t tried the Ciate one and it looks heavenly)
@catrice12964 жыл бұрын
I mean im not sure about city color specifically but sometimes brands may sell in china or other places that require products to be tested on animals. I think that was petas symbol but peta is often inaccurate/lax about giving out cruelty free statuses

Sorry if I’m being an idiot but I don’t understand why if a brand is cruelty free then what does it matter if they sell in China when China is the one doing the animal testing and not actually the brand? I don’t want the animals tested on either but the brand isn’t doing the testing so shouldn’t we just boycott China? Or is boycotting the brand also boycotting China in a sense. Again, my apologies. I am not trying to be rude.
@SarahHublerTheBeautyHub4 жыл бұрын
No worries! My understanding is that when you sell in China, they require the brand to pay for animal testing through their government-run laboratories. So cruelty-free brands stay away from China because they know if they enter into the market they will have to pay for their products to be tested on animals. And a lot of people struggle with brands trying to claim their products are never tested on animals. And then knowingly doing something (and paying for something) that they know results in animal testing. You can tell they are more concerned with making money in China than in truly ensuring animals aren't tested on.
@Cara-394 жыл бұрын
There are a lot of variables to China's law on animal testing and, prior to the pandemic, China had changes to the law that were expected to pass but have now been on hold. Essentially, any brand selling in store inside China, whether products were manufactured in or out of the country, were subject to animal testing. Brands that sold to China but only online did not need testing and neither did products made in China but never sold there. China has approved 9 new tests that don't require animals and were set to put new regulations into effect this year so hopefully that happens soon. In the end, if a brand sells on the ground inside China, they aren't considered cruelty free.

You bring up a good point about CF confusion. I think Sarah Rose's recent video titled ""CRUELTY-FREE" is complicated & idk what to think anymore | GRWM" touched on many concerns about CF in a very good way. It's not cut and dry how best to reduce harm when shopping for makeup, or anything. Even if a brand doesn't sell in China but manufactures in China, are they using unsafe working conditions or even forced labor? How is the mica in our makeup mined? Is it better to be tolerant of a brand that sells in China and is very ethical about pre-market animal testing, working conditions, and environmental impact so that China's large market can support a more ethical brand too (for the time being until post-market animal testing is no longer required)? These and so many more factors impact human and animal well-being. It's overwhelming to focus on all of them at once, right away, but we can start to steadily expand our focus.
