If you don't want to pay for a grow light, a regular lamp works as well. My friend has a masters in botany and he always used regular lights.

hi, i have very recently lost my 2 cat boys to fip and its an awful thing. a lot of vets dont really know what to do with it and its extremely unpredictable. im not sure if you mentioned any other signs that would indicate that, we discussed the symptoms with many vets and its usually weight loss (a clear sign is a very bony back), not drinking and/or eating and a yellowish color in their ears and gums. some cats go through the medication process pretty fine and get better, some - as we experienced first hand - sadly give in to the disease very quickly. i wish you the best and truly hope its gonna be something else or better nothing serious at all x

Sorry to hear about your concerns about Moose. I've been through FIP with an old cat and I wish no one ever had to deal with it. Do you have Moose's blood test results? I assume your vet already told you, but the albumin: globulin ratio gives a very good sense of whether FIP is very likely (when the ratio is low) or very unlikely (when it is high). They usually decline fast when it's FIP so since he is still eating and playing , I am going to hope that it's something more treatable like bartonella.

Could it be an allergy? One of our cats also has an irritated eye and it comes and goes. Mostly when he sniffed a lot of plants or when there are a lot of pollen in the air (hay fever). Hope he will be feeling better soon!
