Honestly I stopped panning shadows and let myself use whatever I feel like, and I am still hitting pans but not as frequent for sure. But it makes me happier and this is what makeup is for🤷🏻♀️

I fell away from panning in 2022, but Christina Chang just introduced another Harry Potter project pan on her channel, so I'm SUPER excited to get back into it! I will probably choose at least one eyeshadow, or maybe even make a little Harry Potter themed mini palette for one of the prompts. That would be fun. 😸🔮✨ I'm definitely excited to start panning again! 💜

You had me at “Harry Potter”, even though 1. I never heard of this trend and 2. I don’t know the person you are mentioning 😅 but I am definitely checking it after finishing this video of Sarah’s.

my panning percentage is 59/75=78.7%🤣 I haven't done any eyeshadow specific project pans, it's just so much easier to hit pan with a very curated collection. The 75 pans contain three shades I completely finished, repurchased and hit pan on again. I also own 11 loose shadows I don't count because I can't hit pan on them.

I don't have a KZbin channel, but this year I started the project pan with my shodows by choosing three shadows that I want, then three using the rendom app, if I get a shadow that is very difficult to pan, I determine how many times I need to use it before I can use it instead. So happy with that 😀

Maybe “pan in every palette” is for you now. Or modified “pan those eyeshadows” by Too Much Tash - 2 shades from “easy” category (transition color or close to hit pan), 2 shades from middle category (will take a few months to hit pan) and 1 shade from hard category (like dark or black shades) Or prioritise 2 palette for month. One with close to hit pan shade and one seasonable. I can’t stick to project pan for long time that’s why I’m changing panning tactics.

I loving hearing the pan percentage. idk why it's such a fun way to quantify lol. All of the shades you mentioned go pretty well together so I think that would help make progress.

Hitting pan and using up products is just so gratifying! I find it easier to focus on products that already have significant progress as well. For me, the part that sucks all the fun out of a panning project is tracking, which led me to create my Project Use Up the Dribs and Drabs. I've managed to empty over 50 makeup products this year by focusing on those that were almost empty anyway. I would like to figure out a way to incorporate eye shadows in some way, but even a monthly Shop My Stash basket was a fail because I didn't want to HAVE to use anything a certain number of times. Good idea to use shadows as blush or highlighters!

I liked the project idea of using 5 products 5 times for a shop my stash. It allowed me to mix things up but still focus in on what I wanted to get some use out of.

Panning eyeshadow is sort of daunting to me, so I created my own project Time to Pan. I work on 4 random eyeshadows at a time, it's mainly about usage goals. It starts with a use goal of 1 and every time I hit a goal, the next shade gets a +1 usage goal. Right now I'm at 12, 13, 12 & 13 as my goals. Once I hit a pan or a goal of 24 uses, I will reset back to 1. So far it hasn't happened yet and I haven't been close either. I'm just getting dips in my eyeshadows, rotating through my stash and slowly dipping my toe into the panning waters. The project is super fun, I will for sure be doing it next year too, but I haven't decided yet if I should start over or just keep going...

I think Too Much Tash’s version of Pan Those Eyeshadows is the most doable for the most people. She separated eyeshadows into categories based on difficulty to pan and pulls one from more difficult category and a couple from the easier category. You could do that and even only pull from the palettes that fit the season in your mind. You don’t have to only use them, but it gives you focus shades in palettes you want to use at that time. I like to use the same palette for work all the time because I don’t have to think about it. I did a pan that palette for the second half of the year, and it went really well, but I felt like I neglected my other neutral palettes. I think I’ll try one month one palette for my neutral palettes so I can rotate them throughout the year and give myself the freedom to use what I want the 3 days I don’t work.

I just want to use my collection more next year, try to wear makeup 5 times a week. This year I got lazy and overwhelmed with my collection. But I'm working on decluttering my collection so I can get refreshed and inspired. You're close to pan in a few shades already how exciting.. I get the craziness panning can be, but as long as you're using everything and enjoying using it you're reaching goals without labeling it.

I do love seeing eyeshadow pans! I personally don't really try to pan eyeshadows, but I rotate my palettes weekly (easy when you have ten), and I always keep two singles or quads in my everyday bag for ten uses each before swapping them out for others. As long as everything gets used, I'm happy with it. I also try to amortize my palettes. For example, I've had my Persona Identity Two for about two years. With say, twelve palettes in rotation (I recently tossed some old ones), let's say I've used it for eight weeks (low-balling). I bought it 50% off for $21, so that's $2.63 a week, or 38 cents a day!
@taramisu99782 жыл бұрын
I have not hit pan on a CP palette but have surprisingly hit pan on a few of the CP singles. But they were very often used shades, either light shades to set primer or transition shades that I used a ton. I would like to get back to that but who knows if I will. I have shifted back to singles mostly, haven't bought a palette in months. I have really enjoyed the palettes I have bought but there are still too many shades that don't get used. So am on a palette no buy indefinitely. Just using what I have and acquiring more singles. Really impressed with the dippage and pannage in your palettes, that's not really common on YT these days. Good video!

The eyeliner looks beautiful on you! I also use red liquid lipstick as liner 😊 I only have one eyeshadow pan in my collection. I wish I had more but I do really rotate through my collection a lot, and I have around 60 palettes. Now that I wear makeup everyday (I wear it to work and then enjoy doing more fun makeup on days off), I’ve been seeing progress on a lot of my makeup! It’s just so hard for me to finish makeup which is the hard lesson I learned this year 😅

Excited for those eyeshadows you’re close to hitting pan on! I feel like I have no shadows that I’m close on lol 😂 I definitely got tired of my pan those eyeshadows project, so how I’m modifying it for next year is 1 random shade from ABH MR, 3 random shades, and then 1 chosen shade! That way I still get to do a pan that palette (kind of), pan those eyeshadows, and play with things I’m more interested in!

I think your Lethal palette could be a great focus palette too. I know they are fairly new in your collection, but I think Lethal's shades are pretty easy to hit pan on. Especially their glittery metallic formula.

I plan to pan my ct exxaggereyes quad to completion. I have good dips already and I want to see how long it would take to do that since its worth a pretty penny. The other palettes I want to rotate so start with 3 at a time hit 10 uses and then keep that up so I can use everything I have. I also probably want to randomize certain shades at the same time for 20 uses we will see. I think the key is to have fun with it.
@juliepenn43272 жыл бұрын
TBH, I think I have the a pretty good eyeshadow project layout that would check all your boxes. It rotates through all your eyeshadows, gives you the option to pick the shades you work on, and will support your goal of hitting pan on the "so close" shades. All you would do is rotate what pallet you're working on every 2 weeks. Details of what I do: In December I lay out all of my pallets, singles, and cream shadows. I organize the shadows and pallets based on what colors I prefer to wear in certain seasons. Once broken down by general season, I shift around the pallets and shadows to have an order that I won't get bored with. With my random single shadows or creams I'll pair them up with a pallet that complements those shades. I then organize all the mess into a nice list that I keep at my vanity. When the 2 weeks are up for a pallet and singles, I move to the next one. Why I think it's perfect: In a year I rotate through all of my shadows and it's based on what colors I already vibe with each season. I have also found that 2 weeks is the perfect amount of time. It's short enough that you don't get bored with the shadows but long enough to make some serious progress and hit pan in those close shades. It's the perfect project for me; I've been following this outline for 3 years and am getting ready for year 4.

I've actually been considering a pan that palette project after watching Victoria K Dixons playlist. I'm thinking of trying it with the Sigma Cinderella palette. I'm curious how easy / difficult you think their formula would be to pan. I was surprised how fast Victoria made progress on Soft Glam and even the other 2 palettes she was working on. P.S: You might like Victoria's style. She is using a pan those eyeshadows quint within the palettes she is working on panning. Maybe you could do something similar with the shades you want to hit pan on.

I'm honestly torn about hitting pan. On one hand, if I do, there's a sense of realization there. It's a very visual reminder that something was well used (which might mean the same as well loved, but not always). On the other hand, seeing pan is so unaesthetic it leaves me with the feeling I've made my palette ugly. I try to compromise. There are shadows that for me are sort of treasures so I don't want to hit pan on them. Does that make sense?

I have the same issue. I do like hitting pan, but I don't like strict structure within my makeup usuage. Maybe it's just better to identify your favorite shades in your palettes and plan to use them more. Eventually pan will be hit.
