I’m 37 weeks pregnant with my third while taking care of my dying grandma in late stage dementia. I’m trying to find a balance between working hard and serving, and giving my body rest. Sometimes my body forces me to sit down and I hate it, but I’m trying so hard to give myself grace in this crazy season. I have to remember the God who created our universe took time to rest! It’s just hard to rest in this hustle culture we live in 😅I’m glad to see another mama take a step back when her body is tired.

* hugs * I'm so sorry about your grandma. Stay strong and be good to yourself! Take lots of breaks, drink lots of fluids, and don't be afraid to ask for help from others... especially when you need breaks or have to do any lifting. Even if you're just sitting next to your grandma, it can still be very taxing on your body because of all of the emotions and anxiety. Dementia/Alzheimer's is one of the most horrible things I can think of. I helped my dad care for my mother as she was dying from young-onset Alzheimer's. The end was a true test of faith for all of us. My husband was working overtime while I was at home caring for our 4 year old and my mom(we were getting ready to buy our own home, so we needed the money). We had just gone through a stillbirth right before my mom passed away, so my emotions and hormones were already a mess. I honestly don't know how I got through all of that without having a nervous breakdown. If I may give one more piece of unsolicited advice, if you're not doing so already, talk to your grandma. Talk to her about anything. Hold her hand. Pray with her. My mom was pretty much in a gentle sleep in her final hours(hospice gave us the good medicine to administer to her), but she would still smile when we talked to her or touched her. Familiar voices can be comforting.

Can i just say i appreciate you talking so positively about having older kids. You don't hear that much. Its always, enjoy them when they're young/can't talk/walk etc.. you actually make me excited to see my baby grow and not dread it.

Having older kiddos is the best!!! It takes lots of work and discipline in the younger years but if your diligent in your parenting older kiddos are a blessing and a joy!!

My kiddo is 26 but I honestly preferred him after about 8 years old. Don't mistake me. I have deeply fond memories of his baby/toddler years. But I definitely prefer the more communicative ages. He was interesting and curious and had interest in topics I didn't. So talking with him broadened my own interests and knowledge. Even now at 26, he teaches me things and is just a really interesting person. Keeping the lines of communication seems to have been the most important basis of enjoying him into and through the teen years.

How did you and your family go about healing from the worm issue?
@UnfrozenCavewomanАй бұрын
She had posted on her Instagram about it. You take a dose of Combantrin (available at Walmart, Amazon, etc) and take another dose two weeks later. I have done this every six months or so for years. De-worming helps with energy, sleep, etc. (Disclaimer: This is not medical advice. Use at your own discretion.)

I genuinely don’t understand women who are controlled by their cycles. Even as someone with pcos which causes severe hormone imbalances, I have never had a hard time managing myself through my cycle. I just live my life lol am bleed sometimes there really isn’t much too it. Idk why it affects ppl so much
@kitty19254Ай бұрын
Your answer is in your statement: "I've never had a hard time managing..." Some women have very difficult symptoms that you apparently don't experience (e.g. for myself, extreme fatigue, joint pain and persistent vomiting). If you're on the internet you should be old enough to know that your experience doesn't define all possible experiences....

@kitty19254 It cannot hurt. She doesn't appear to be having persistent vomiting. At 11:00 she talked about day 1,2, and 3 of her period. She gave no dramatic symptoms. I'm assuming she means cramping and tired.

I had them about a decade ago, pretty sure they came from an organic farmer's market stand sample. I now never eat unwashed fruit or vegetables. Umm... In plain terms: your butthole gets super itchy, especially at night, and when you scratch it, you might get lucky and find a tiny white worm on your finger. Fun times. Oh and also: inspect your poop from time to time!
