Mozart wrote 4 horn concertos. Back in those days horns didn't have valves and sounded quite different.

I played horn in high school, at the University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and in the US Army Headquarters band in Heidelberg. Germany in the early 70's. I have a real appreciation for how difficult the instrument is. Sarah brings a real joy to playing and is a wonderful inspiration to practitioners of the art. Much admiration from me!

From my experience of playing the French horn in high school and college, I can tell you it's more difficult when standing. It's not light, so you can't support it on your knee. Also, the smaller mouthpiece than the trumpet makes it more difficult to play when standing. And she's playing from memory, so bravo, bravo!

Bonjour, j'ai découvert grâce à France Inter et Arte , ceci dit je pense que si j'étais encore en métropole j'aurais eu le loisir de découvrir ce groupe grâce à FIP , que je remercie de m'avoir fait découvrir ce qu'on prénommait à l'époque "la musique du monde" ...
