(15 May 2020) Public transport began operating again in the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday, with intercity road transport and railway traffic operating in Sarajevo with special measures.
The same timetable is operating from before lockdown measures brough in to tackle the new coronavirus, but with more caution and less crowds.
Passengers have been advised to wear masks and protective gloves, with a modified seating plan to ensure social distancing measures are respected.
The trams have been marked with seats where passengers can sit and the capacity is limited.
In each tram there are officials who supervise the recommended measures.
While transport has restarted, the citizens of Sarajevo have been advised not to use public transport between 7am and 9am, and 3pm to 5pm, in order to give those who are commuting to and from work priority.
Following a completion of each route around the city, the public transport is disinfected and cleaned.
Bosnia has so far confirmed 2,231 infections of the new virus, with 124 deaths.
