Thank you didi for your wonderful lip balm. I have pigmented lips, it is hereditary 😔. But I used this balm as a moisturizer because my lips are chappy also. I made the balm with a small twist. What I did is , cooked the beetroot juice and reduced the water content in it. Then after melting the shea butter and other ingredients I just added the beetroot extract in it. Then I removed it from the heat. Then I continously whisked it using a spoon for about 5 minutes so I got a beautiful tinted lip balm 💋💖

I want to mention 1 thing about adding beetroot juice....u r using water content in butter and oil without any emulsifier which won't be mixed....after few days ur lip balm ll get to stink bcuz of beetroot....so better dont add any beetroot granules or juice....just use it with previous 3 ingredients

I made the lip balm and left it in the fridge. Beetroot juice got separated from the solidified part and now after 2 weeks it has caught fungus. Is it better to use beetroot powder instead of the juice ? Should we keep the lip balm in the fridge ? P.S.- For 2 weeks i used the lip balm and it was amazing. Just want to know how to preserve it . Dear prerna, lip balm you suggested is awesome but there is a problem when i stored it, I infused some beet residues which I grated to get the juice, later aftdr few weeks because of those residues balm got some fungus on it! Because i use castor oil instead of shea butter and after keeping for the 24hrs it still in liquid position and i used beetroot powder.
