1942: A Love Story is a 1994 Bollywood film starring Anil Kapoor, Manisha Koirala, Jackie Shroff, Anupam Kher, Danny Denzongpa, and Pran. The film was released some time after the death of the music director, Rahul Dev Burman. The film received five Filmfare Awards. This is the first Indian film to use Dolby Stereo. The film was the first ever to be given a U/A rating while featuring a scene, previously considered inappropriate for young children, showing the actors kissing.

Sorry to say brother but Pancham ji didn't groom Sanu da for this song, actually it was rehearsal song of Kumar Sanu. Pancham da asked him to just sing this song in his own way how will you sing, and after recording Pancham da said I got what I needed. I used to watch a lot of Indian movies with Sinhala subtitles from around 1990 - 1996 till I got married. This is one of my favourite movies. I love all the songs in this movie.
