I had a personal connection with Mukeshji, especially during his concert in our theater in Jinja, Uganda on the hour that Shree Late Pruthviraj Ji passing away. Wire cable message was sent. He stopped singing for a few minutes and came back on stage and sang several songs in His memory. Such experiences highlight not only his musical genius but also his humility and warmth as a person. His legacy lives on, touching the hearts of many across generations. God bless his soul indeed.

Superb lyrics by Jan Nissar Akhtar and its contents are so beautifully conveyed by his soulful rendition by Mukesh ji. The interlude pieces of Sitar in sweet notes of Raag Yaman enhanced the flavor of this Ghazal. Kudos to Khayyam sahab!!

This tune has been used by khayyam saheb in a song...tum chali jaogi parchhaiyan reh jayeingi..sung by Rafi saheb in film shagun..it is interesting to note how beautifully rafi saheb had sung the song blending romance as well as sadness in his voice as thoughts of separation linger throughout the song
