Superb game but very stressful to watch! Difficult to imagine a tougher game as Spain were brilliant. What a great spectacle the woman's game is, hardly any diving, hardly any descent and if a player goes down injured YOU KNOW they are injured, so different from the men's game. Been watching women's football for years and it's so exciting to see it getting so much support and growing in recognition year on year.

England should have had a penalty, looked like the spanish player deliberately kneed the English player and Spains antics on the bench after England equalised was unplesent. You can see Russo didn't use the player for elevation so it was a good goal. All in all though you are right both teams behavied very well considering how close it was. Tough on Spain to lose that one!

Not at an higher class like Premier league or international as to be honest women's football quality is on par with maybe at a push division 3 or non league in the English league. The US women's team were winning all the women's football matches and got hammered by an under 15's male colleague team.

Good result but needed to play higher up the pitch to squeeze the space when you play a team like Spain. They had on skillful playmaker, their no. 6 and the best thing to do here is to get someone to sit ON THEM! Good luck in the semis.

Would it be too crazy idea an idea to let this lady take a training session with the men's team and visa versa. Plus wouldn't women's football be even better with very slightly smaller footballs and goals. (most women have smaller feet and hands so (excellent as it is already, it could be worth trying!) The women don't seem to feign injury as much as the men do either!

No, women's football wouldn't be better with smaller footballs and goals. The progression in the women's game has been huge in such a short space of time and it doesn't need those types of retrograde changes to it.

I agree, the average height of women is 5'5 in the UK. compared to the average man is 5'9. If you think about it the goals were adapted to suit the Male taller height dimensions, necessary for goalkeepers. Most Male goal keepers are 6" and above. Nothing wrong with making the goals smaller it absolutely makes sense. With the smaller ball, It makes no difference, as height isn't detrimental to dribbling. I think its it's more to do with power and quick feet. Although taller men, find difficulty with balance. In fact shorter men are usually more pacey and more technical I think. Although they have more muscle mass than the average women, I dont think theres an argument for it. We know the women will shoot with less power output iregardless of the ball size.

This is all about exposure to the possibilities of being a pro womens player for young girls. This creates a larger pool to select from and that larger pool will produce taller talented players.
