I've just ordered one of these that's down as a return with this knocking sound... with a bit of luck it'll be a good project for me, if I can fix it up its a good turbo for £80 how did you get on with the $1000 rocker plate
@Bigkidbird414 күн бұрын
@denbot.cycling absolute steal. Buy a good quality belt(not one from saris) and i bet you'll be set. The new JetBlack 4-way rocker looks legit.

@@Bigkidbird4 I've already got a stationary smart bike, but its too much like a spinning bike lacks the real road feel, with a bit of luck £80 is worth the gamble 😅 I'll let you know how I get on next week

Thank You. I have been emailing Saris with no response. I hope Saris gives you that Rocker Plate. I'll get a new belt and give my trainer a once over.

Ill keep my fingers crossed😆🤞 Glad I could help. Try tightening your old belt a touch and apply some belt dressing while waiting on your new belt to arrive.

@@Bigkidbird4 I really appreciate how you took the time to clearly, slowly explain the steps you took. I've had a CycleOps Hammer since about 2017, have never serviced it in any way and it's just now starting to make the heavy "woodpecker" noise your video shows and you reference. Looking forward to trying the belt and conditioner solution. Thank you and happy cycling!

I bought my H3 thinking that an American company would give good customer service. It took Saris 2 months to even acknowledge my email. Sadly the knock got worse after changing the belt.
@Bigkidbird43 жыл бұрын
@@Goji-Berries That also was a big incentive for my purchase as well. Sry to hear your trainer is still knocking.. does it sound like the woodpecker knock in video?

Hello Mitch. Excellent video. Could you share the information about the place you bought the US 7 belt. Thanks.

Thank you for video. How do you take pulley wheel off?
@Bigkidbird43 жыл бұрын
I slid in a couple pry bars behind the pulley wheel behind the center bearing area.. popped off after a little force. It was kinda hard to get behind it but it did come off.

I have the Saris H3 and have a knocking sound. Saris also sent me a new pulley but I can't for the life of me get the pulley off. How did you get the pulley off to put the new one on?
@Bigkidbird43 жыл бұрын
Just took a couple small pry bars and pried it behind the center the best i could. Kinda tricky to get behind it and pry off it with how the housing is formed and the pulley, but it popped right off. Maybe a touch of heat with a butane torch but mine didnt need it.

Hi Mitch, Thanks for the video. Really appreciated and easy to follow. Just to confirm before i buy the belt, it's really the 370J6 Poly-V Belt that you bought? Not the J7 or J8 correct?
@Bigkidbird44 жыл бұрын
Yes.. it is the 370 J6, as this correlates with the number v-grooves

Thank you for the video. How did you remove the fan pulley? What took did you use?
@Bigkidbird42 жыл бұрын
I used a couple small pry bars, maybe even a big screwdriver on one side, cant remember but it took some force. It was kinda tough to get behind it to pry off the case but it did come off and was doable.

It could be the bearing is bad also
@Bigkidbird42 жыл бұрын
You'll know if any bearings are bad by removing the belt and spinning them. They wont spin freely or they will feel a little knotchy and not smooth. You may be able to buy some time by pulling one side of the bearing seal out and packing a little high temp grease in it and reinstalling the bearing seal. Bearing size should be on the seal or you could physically measure it.. online or local bearing store for purchase. **Press-in a new bearing, never beat or hammer one in. Good luck.
