Statler has been constantly disappointed in her relationships, romantic or platonic, going in with a back up plan means she doesn’t feel secure or trusting, the foundation of a good relationship is trust, she’ll sabotage hers without even consciously knowing, she shouldn’t date until she’s healed from this insecurity , I don’t think she’s toxic she’s just been let down and that’s her trauma response,relationship without trust doesn’t exist

@@marieantoinette1091 I didn't care for Statler from the first season she was on. She was scheming to get to live with Dempsey as soon as they met in person because she didn't have a place to live. She's not very trustworthy either, imo. Something so big as to plot to get to live with someone you just met and not having that conversation before she went to meet Dempsey is definitely not an open, honest or trustworthy. I've been married over 30 years, and I have to agree, if there's no trust, there's no relationship. She could have just talked to Dempsey. So, imo, I think Statler is the one not trustworthy and perhaps she projects that onto others. I don't think there's anything wrong with a back up plan, but why aren't Statler and Dempsey, both and together, coming up with a Plan B? I personally, if I were Statler, I would explain that I'm the type of person who needs a backup plan to Dempsey and figure it out together. That, to me, is trusting a person. Let them know who you are, how you feel and trust each other enough to come up with something both are comfortable with. Idk, but if that's what dating someone these days is like, I'm so glad I don't date. Sounds like too many games being played. I'd rather be open and if it's not meant to be, it's just not meant to be. Idk, I don't want this to sound like some kind of lecture, but that's just the way I am. I'll trust in someone until they give me a reason not to. But yes, I agree that if there's no trust, why bother and that trust is the basic foundation for a good relationship. Actually it’s 26k and Dempsey only has 10k to contribute which isn’t really fair if it’s Dempsey’s dream it understandably became overwhelming they should have stayed together in a regular space for a year or so before essentially being right on top of each other as odd as Statler is she’s absolutely correct in thinking this probably wasn’t the best idea and to make sure she has something to fall back on she has no family to lean on if this doesn’t work where as Dempsey can lean on her dad or go back to her friends camper site

I also think the dollar to pound exchange rates wasn’t calculated accurately on both ends and I think Dempsey is also using her for the money. If I was her I would have unpacked, got a refund on my plane ticket money, returned the loan, kept my car and slept 😂 It seems like this Dempsey in question isn’t romantically interested in her like she thinks. She’s just trying to get someone to split the costs of her dreams which is to live a van life because Startler or whatever her name is said she didn’t like her caravan when she visited her in the UK because it wasn’t so comfortable and didn’t have a toilet, and hot water.
