The Academy for Science and Freedom (dc.hillsdale.edu/Academy-for-...) was recently established by Hillsdale College and its three founding fellows, Drs. Scott Atlas, Jay Bhattacharya, and Martin Kulldorff. Its mission is to educate the American people about the free exchange of scientific ideas and the proper relationship between freedom and science in the pursuit of truth. The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed grave problems in the essential functioning of science, research, and debate. Scientists whose research and data interpretation differ from the desired narrative have been silenced, censored, and slandered. This dangerous trend threatens the free exchange of ideas essential to the public good. Hillsdale College's Academy for Science and Freedom will provide a framework for study and discourse far beyond this pandemic that will serve to educate and inform the citizens and leaders who will be faced with the inevitable public health crises to come.

What is apparently going on from the beginning of all this, is the Largest ever Socio-economic, behavioural & Bio-Medical World Experiment. If one has ever been a research scientist in any laboratory or other field, can easily foresee why this is so. This is clear, as Various Variables are used in each state, country, continent, etc., which they transverse and customise accordingly. A friend of mine, a very clever woman in her mid 60s, asked me why I questioned the 'official' narrative of Covid. I mentioned an article published by the BMJ which highlighted a number of errors in aresearch study by a top pharmaceutical company. Scientists as a general rule have both childlike Curiosity and childlike innocence. From what I understand, Governor Asa Hutchinson of Arkansas allowed elementary school children to attend school and receive free lunches in August of 2020. Even if they chose not to send their children to school, parents were still able to pick up the free lunches for their children. He did not ever force businesses to close, according to what I was told. I am from Arkansas, born and raised, but live in my husband’s homeland, El Salvador. I tried to watch the press conferences Governor Hutchinson offered on-line. I’d appreciate corrections if I am wrong about anything I said here.

The people in the government that grossly mishandled this or outright purposefully mishandled this are the same types of people that run the media that most people watch in the western world. They are the same type of people that run most of the colleges and universities in the western world. So how does this get into the hands of people.....it doesn't, and when some of this does seep into media or academia it will mostly likely be shuffled out or squashed quickly. Sure, there will be a small group of people like people that watched this that will know the truth but when media, universities, and mainstream Social media platforms either ban it or don't promote it few will see it. The US-NRC documented a process, the SSHAC (Senior Seismic Hazard Assessment Committee) process, that solicits the opinions of various proponents in a controlled manner. This could guide different sciences and would have served opinion forming during the pandemic very well. I propose that it be looked at.

Reflecting back, I so glad I was more aware and had the opportunity to run across Dr.Jay B and Martin K writings and talks before they were quickly taken down, censored… I’m not a scholar, academic or doctor, but I searched deep and wide for good information to balance and counter what it knew in my gut was erroneous. I have so much respect for these fine men! I also struggle that I self censored in my own profession and didn’t stand up for all children.

Re: Auditing. The journals should be doing independent audits of accepted/rejected papers. I've served as an editor for professional engineering conference papers and we audit! Review boards should also provide guidance documents for peer reviewers on what is and is not acceptable criteria for acceptance/rejection.

Then they say none of the company's can be sued and the company studies can't be revealed for 75 years, well nothing terrifying about that, right!! Then their outraged at some people holding out to actually want to see the science, how dare we be so selfish, & throw back that they are following the Science, but still can't produce any, & then don't like that we deduce it must be political science they mean, maybe! Re surgical masks during surgery- I’m surprised he doesn’t know of the study that showed masking of the OR personnel did nothing in regards to post-operative infection rates. Mask use during surgery protects the surgeon from blood splatter.

We all need to step up and have calm , respectful and brave conversations with those who think differently . Really listen to each other . Isnt that what makes us richer in a democracy , to see things from all angles . Somehow we have fallen into a trap of thinking that there is only one idea in science and the case is closed . Lockdown , had my rehab cancelled for pelvic , lumbar injury due to lockdown . Did my horrid pain heighten in world’s longest lockdown ? By 50 spreading to knees , leg pain , on walker and no connection with humans equals . depression. . So close to suicide but teens self harming , now stage one cancers , stage 3 and many doctors doing TELEHEALTH , so not within my medical standards , but masks ? I am exempt . Mandates now destroying me more . I know they shut you down . I am a tad bright . I have lost respect for opinions , your opinions. Facts ! Bravo bravo
