Sarti is a seaside village on the east #coast of the second peninsula of Halkidiki, #Sithonia. It has 1200 inhabitants, who are mainly engaged in #tourism, fishing and agriculture.
The name comes from the nearby Ancient Greek settlement of #Sarta, mentioned by #Herodotus as one of the places captured by #Xerxes during the #Persian invasion in Greece.
The current village was settled after 1923 by Greek #refugees from the island of #Afissia (now Avsa on #Marmara sea) after the Greco-Turkish War and population exchange.
It lies 144 km southeast of #Thessaloniki, 80 km from #Polygyros and 43 km from #Nikiti.
Today, Sarti is a #popular #tourist #destination, especially during the #summer months! Visitors from all over the world arrive in Sarti, in order to get the taste of #authentic #vacation in Halkidiki! #Tropical #beaches, golden sand, white rocks, blue sky and turquoise waters! And this amazing view towards Mount #Athos
It is divided in two parts- old Sarti and new Sarti and together they are one of the most popular #places in Halkidiki.
The main reason is definitely an amazing, 3km-long, sandy beach all along the village. And being wide enough it never gets crowded. There are many beach bars and other facilities for visitors to enjoy beach activities all day long. Choose from #sailing, cycling, paddleboarding, #diving, to skiing and all kind of water sports! Not to mention that Sarti is one of the most commonly used locations for ascending Mount #Itamos.

Htela sam krajem juna ici na Sitoniju. Jel moze neko reci dal je pogodno vreme i voda temperature u tom mesecu? Hvala unapred

Obično je krajem juna vrijeme savršeno. Rijetko se javljaju sporadične kiše ili oluje. Temperatura je obično oko 30 stepeni Celzijusa, a morska voda je hladna. Najbolja temperatura morske vode je u mjesecu septembru.

Sarti, Greece is a stunning summer destination that offers relaxation and adventure, with sandy beaches, turquoise waters, stunning mountain views and activities such as beach bars, water sports and rock climbing. It is a must visit for a high quality summer experience and the birthplace of the ancient gods. I've only seen Sarti in passing, but now, after your video, I think I'll reserve a few days for him this summer.👍
