Love it from Elvis to you, and please note that it took Pet Shop Boys to improve on the score with that transitional chord under "I'm so happy that you're _mine"_ which is used in your version. Strats sound pleasant to the ear effortlessly, and I only got more appreciative and aware of the great freedom of that thick, round tone of a Les Paul for people like Robert Fripp: solos like on Bowie's "Fashion" with a strat is a hard thing to imagine for me - even as a non-guitar player. When a former band member complimented his Les Paul with a Mesa Boogie, holy cow, he could have easily done complete performances without any efx units. I love the mid thinness of a single coil strat but Les Pauls are remarkably heart breaking in the big man crying silently dept, and the feedback and finger picking overtones that combo generates is almost always instantly musical. In addition to the softness, playing with your thumb also gives that extra raspy attack, and Les Pauls pick up and translate that on a microscopic level. Happy mother's day to those in your life, but not for you because you're a bad mother-.
