During the Falkland War in 1982, special force troops are trapped by Hurricane force winds on a remote glacial region. The rescue mission faces challenges such as catastrophic engine failure and navigating through a lethal maze of ice and rock. The helicopters must rely on radar for navigation due to the lack of visibility in the hostile environment.
Westland Wessex 3 (Humphrey): An aging helicopter plays a crucial role in the mission. Despite being 19 years old and having a single engine with a worrying failure rate, it leads the way as the mission's Pathfinder.

3-1 in the helicopter industry, that’s called incompetence. Spoken from a 13,000 Canadian pilot there whole be no puffed out chests here. Winter is our world.

It astonishes me that the British royal Navy have not learned from their Royal Canadian counterparts. Even at the time of the Falklands the Canadian Navy had what was and is called the bear trap . The bear trap is a device that will pull the helicopter down and securely anchor to the deck in less than a few seconds. The helicopter drops a cable from its underbelly. This is connected to a winch located underneath the flight deck that pulls the helicopter down in a few seconds right onto the deck. The helicopter is then instantly secured do the flight deck. We've had it since 1963.

These guys were indeed mountain warfare specialists, however they had all just returned from operations in Oman and Kenya. Suffice to say, their Arctic capabilities were significantly degraded. That said, the storm was extraordinary. Under normal conditions, the approach would have been uncomfortable but well within capabilities.
