Rice cakes are very chewy and tasteless. It takes on the flavor of what it is cooked in if nobody had a chance to explain to you yet. Very common in a Korean dish called tteobokki(?)

I got some from my local Korean supermarket. The rice cake on its own is very very chewy almost gummy but the flavor it has a very very faint hint of rice to it but it really is all about what you add to it it’s more for texture and chewing from what I experienced. Not going to lie I loved the texture but I don’t think the dish I made with them was good at all but I’ve also never cooked that kind of meal before so it’s something I’m going to try again with a different recipe.
