one year later after having this song on repeat, I can say to all those who are going through heartbreak: it really does get better, most probably your friends and family are right, therapy will help, and looking at the bad, not only at the good, will help you accept the loss as an opportunity to know yourself better. take care of yourself even if you don't feel like it and look at the big picture. we're living through a damn pandemic, focus on surviving this and you will find love again. where there is life, there is always love, one form or another.

@iba matlai I don't know if it will have the same benefit for you, because I know everyone grieves loss in their own way and time, but if I may offer a suggestion to help you cope I'd like to share something a dear friend once suggested to me that I have passed on to my daughters. She said when someone's time here is up, and we are left with things left unspoken, burdens we still carry of opportunities missed for whatever reasons, write a letter to them, saying what it is that weighs on your heart and mind, pouring all of that heartfelt emotion into the words you write on the pages. Once you have finished the letter, mind you this is not a one-time thing and can be done as little or often as needed or desired, go outside at night and (safely of course) burn the letter releasing the emotions, the weight, the burden, and regret back to the universe from which we all made and return to, envisioning the smoke carrying your words to the one you have written. It may take one time, it may take ten or more, but you will feel the weight upon your heart loosen and find a sense of release in doing so. I have done this for many years after many losses, and my daughters have also began using this coping technique as well, with the exception that my oldest daughter doesn't burn the letters but instead places them on the graves of our passed loved ones and says it brings her the same peace I find in the burning of mine. You can use whatever suits your situation and best helps you to not hold on to that overwhelming burden of not having a chance to properly say things that needed to be said. My fiance passed away a year ago and I still write him almost every day. Sometimes I hold onto the letters for awhile until I am ready to let go of whatever is weighing on me, and sometimes I burn them immediately after finishing them. As with everything in existence it is an individual and unique process that only you can decide what works and what doesn't. I hope this helps you, or others, in some way and would love to hear anyone's experience who finds solace in this practice. 🖤☯️🎶🕯️
