This era is when Sasha is at his finest. Everything he touched from about 1991 to 2001 turned to gold and touched me. His new sets don't have the same magic for me. Sorry, it's decent, but nothing like 90's Sasha

At the risk of sounding like an old fart, some of these 'worlds biggest' DJ's now who fill arenas playing pre-programmed sets of cheesy euro-pap aren't fit to plug in Sasha's headphones. This guys still oozes class and knows better than anyone how to build a set with proper tunes, it's an overused expression but in the world of DJ's, he really is a living legend.

From a DJ that always looks forward, so refreshing to see him dust off some great 90's tunes, these were staples of Sasha sets in the late 90's. Fantastic mix (although the anilating rhythm sample got a bit boring). Would have loved to have seen him break the vinyl out or maybe even drop some early 90's def mixes. Also great to see 2 hooj releases in an hour set, shows how influential the label was.

My friend used to tour a lot of big DJ's back in the day. He always tells me Sasha used to hit it the hardest. He was on a tour of Australia and Sasha had necked a bunch of pills at the gig (which me smashed) and had a pocketfull when he went back to his hotel. My mate went to Sasha's hotel the next day to check on him and found him in the bathtub which was filled with tinned spaghetti. He was still high as balls and said he was swimming around in a tub of spaghetti because it felt so amazing on his body. I'm keen to try it tbh.

I think the best thing about this is that Sasha is one of the only big DJs to actually have the cajoles to play the underrated classics which so many are far too scared to play because they're not Cafe Del Mar / For An Angel or anything from 1999. There is no doubt in my mind that 1997 was the best year for Trance music ever and yet hardly anything gets played from Pre 99 these days.

I first saw Sasha in 1990 when o was 17 at a Kaos event at Leeds University. Due to his knowledge of being able to play the piano, he got famous by blending records into each other that were recorded in the same key, thus making it sound seamless. He really came into his own and developed his style with Digweed at Renaissance in the summer of 92 when they had a residency there. Incredible days and obviously they were only using vinyl then but Sasha was one of the first to incorporate digital formats and computer technology into his sets. Hes influenced a lot of DJ's

Sasha says he was very influenced by Jon Da silver at the Hacienda. There's so much going on than a quick mix. The build up,s The Drama. Very privileged to have been clubbing with Both these Dj,s

This reminds me of Hacienda. I've never been to Hacienda and I was not born yet at that time though.

Top DJ, Been following him for 35 years. Been inspired by him many times. That (Annihilating ) loop went on for most of the set which was repetitive though. He seems a bit chilled. Still N.0.1 of progressive house.

yeah its a common thing. Unfortunately theres ZERO skill in DJing these days meaning most DJ's (even Sasha here) have nothing better to do than destroy great songs with samples, effects and filters... its not like they do anything else like beat matching anymore.... over 90% of DJing these days is standing around looking busy... its fucking boring to be honest....Take a look a FUNDACION album... AWESOME songs but a mix CD with so much overkill of sampling and effects that it is impossible to listen to in parts.

Call me old fashioned, but I’m ole school, and it’s the vinyl and decks for me. I know there’s some bangers of tunes still being produced, and mixed, but the vinyl brings something special. My 1st decks were CAMs belt driven 😂 had some belting after parties with those old things. Obviously the “IN” DJs at the time had Techniques. Some of the vinyl collections I’ve seen over the years are awesome. I’m NOT knocking “DJ-ing” as it is now, but there definitely was a special element when you heard beats drop in and mixing

I was kind of expecting an early Sasha type of set.....piano anthems and vocals. I went off him a bit after 1995 when he went all trancey. Ah well...they guy is still a house legend in my eyes.
