With the amount of music on tap these days it's easy to skim over this and move onto the next.. BUT! If you just have the patience to give this the respect it deserves and listen start to finish with good headphones or speakers, it's hard to not fall in love with it. And that's just the way with Sasha. You give whatever he's put out over the years, be it his albums or one of his sets a few listens and that's it, It's stuck with you for life. I'm way past my raving days now, but the one thing I have kept from them is my love for this guys music.

Some comment on here says Sasha cant mix, dont know what your listening to, cd in the car or something like that, but this man is and has been a genius over many years. Expander, Evolver, Refracted, Northern Exposure Albums to name a few. Him and JD were the pioneers of Progressive music and they still set the bar. If want to listen to someone who cant mix tune into Paul Oakenfold.

This deck deity transcends all industry standard parameters! His DNA is encoded with this shit! He is without equal, his sets and productions are otherworldly! His 'God' moniker from the 90s a nod towards what was yet to come! I don't got no religious beliefs but I kneel at this man's alter! My introduction to and indoctrination with Alexander began during his residency @ Renaissance in Mansfield, Notts., circa early nineties. Even then his reputation preceded him and he turned that venue into the No.1 voted for best club in the land during that period. And that shit was no coincidence! I'll be forever indebted to this guy for the spell he cast over me, for his white 'MAGIC' (probably my fave Sasha release, a true beast of a track that boasted a superb Sam Mollison vocal!), and for all those memories overflowing with nostalgia of a bygone age i.e. 'The 2nd Summer Of Love.' The passage of time can diminish the finer details of that lifestyle, that cultural shift, but it can never erase the moment we were in! In the present time Sasha remains untouchable in his field. There are other notables worthy of mention that have reached the pinnacle of their profession e.g. Jean F. Cochois a.k.a. The Timewriter BUT my loyalty steadfastly remains in Sasha's back yard!! Amen to that!

Hi Dan. Thank you for your honest take, obviously Sasha dragged through a few of those mixes. I am the biggest fan of Sasha and I understand that this was to raise money. But the comments show a lack of understanding as to why Sasha is so damned good. Let's pray that the future of Progressive House Music has an audience that knows what perfect phrasing and beat matching, which Sasha usually nails (mostly always, ha ha I have been a fan of his for decades and know that he stumbles at times), provides to one's senses. Yeah Sasha proved himself many moons ago, around 1990 infact (has it been that long) and on vinyl which required a lot more tactile skill than the digital age. Whilst they are outstanding mixes and albums his essential selection tour live from the arches in Glasgow pretty much doesn't put a foot wrong for a live club set. He opens with phoenix- rise up and it's and electrifying intro track. If you've never heard this set seek it out on KZbin as it's amazing.
