My 14yr old wants locs on top of hair only. Don’t want to pay for him to get his hair done, so I’m here to learn how to get started. I learned to knit using KZbin and that was one of the hardest things to learn. If I can do that I can learn to start his locs. Praying I came to the right video!! We did that for Afro's in the 70's you got to put a Durag on your hair at night and keep your roots oiled down the parted area our hair was platted not just twisted we take a piece of hair split it then twist 2 parts together really that's how our Ancestors did hair

Hey, I did my boyfriend’s last year. So what we did was when he wanted to wash his hair again, that’s the next time I did his first retwist. I did interlock this time so it can hold. And now it’s been a year and they growing growing. I do a Retwist for him like once or twice a month, depends on if it looks bad or not.

I just have a question. I have been styling loc since 2000 and the process has always been natural. Why do you use harsh hair product like eco gel and that yellow hair spray b2? Black castor oil with a little curling cream like Cantue locs the hair naturally without using a hair dryer. It looks good, but gel and hair spray are just so damaging to the hair eventually. Just wanted to ask ❤

Depending on your hair type , you can actually use hair locing gel , that’s supplied at your local beauty supply store. It’s used to retwist the hair when it’s almost time for a retwist

For me I waited about 4 to 5 weeks after i got it twisted but I only washed my hair when I got it retwisted which was every 4 to 5 weeks

It’s tricky with dandruff because not washing your hair cases buildup. If you can, use witchhazel on a cotton ball to dab your scalp only, wash every other week but a Retwist must follow up after the wash
