Great video especially the drone footage. That gives the complete picture of a job. Nice variety of the daily chores and the cows trying to get their star moment was comical. Beautiful work Jan, happy we are getting to see you more often!

All those cows want to be the next youtube star. Trying to get their faces out there!! One of my most favorite tools also. The bed buster. You know it has to make that sand nice and soft when they come back!!Gosh I understand the coment about the mats and as far as I know you're pretty much right on point and it is a sad situation for us to be in. With every thing that's throwaway now, It all gets more and more expensive and the quality tanks.

Being able to see an unusual item (possible predator!) is very important to a herd of prey animals. The ones that did NOT develop that ability didn't survive to reproduce.

Can you use mats like the ones on the deck? They’re subjected to worse than what’s in the pit so maybe they’d work down below. Just a random thought! Thanks for all of the videos, Jan!! Keeps us entertained on these cold winter days! 😂

One quik question. Was the quik pic of the black foor sprayed down? I think that a spray bedliner material would work. Acid etch the floor, and have a company spray it. dries in a day. May need a temporary parlor for a couple of days.

Have you tried what we used in restaurant kitchens for floor matts? They are a honeycomb rubber that is resistant to grease and oil and hose off very well?
@DIGGER19860Күн бұрын
what about horse stall mats? the harder rubber ones. they probably arent as porous as the foam pads and wont grow bacteria as easily who knows. they are heavy af.

I started to get a red blush appearing in a new bathroom following som building work. A biologist friend said he thought it was from bacteria within the disturbed old building materials. I was using various bleaches to tr and kill it. He advised using a disinfectant on a 50/50 split with 20% distilled white vinegar. Circa 3 weeks of meticulous spraying etc, gone.

You may have answered this already but in the last video when all of those heifers went running back to the corral it made me wonder what you do with all of them. I know you cull cows and have to replace them but that was a lot of replacement heifers, are you guys expanding or do you sell your heifers? Lastly that is some very nice compost in the making, you may have to bag it and sell it, just kidding it will make a nice addition to your sandy soil.

While you aren't real big on automation. You have incorporated a feed pusher into your farm. Have you considered a Lely scraper for maintaining the alleys like they were doing on 10th Generation Dairy Farm? Seems a consistent and repetitive task that could be done for you.
