Modern dairy parlor 101 - Professor Jan. Very impressive, both the equipment & explanation. 🐄 🐄 🐄 🐄 🐄

The mechanics/the working part is so fascinating! To the machinery, to the farmers, to the cows, the person who picks up the milk, etc. is so fascinating, and intriguing. I never lived on a farm, or even ever been to a farm, let alone, inside a milking parlor. But, this video was so interesting, and insightful to watch! Us consumers, that's has never worked on a farm, will never fully understand, how much we take for granted, on how much effect goes on, "behind the scenes" per-say, for us to be able to, just walk into a grocery store, and buy a gallon of milk off the shelves. Wow! So impressive, seriously! Thank you for creating, and sharing this video with us. But, furthermore, thank, you, your family, and everyone else, that provide food, for our consumption!! May God continue to Bless each, and everyone for the hard work, and the dedication, that goes in to complete the final product. Btw, your videography/cinema in every video I've watched of yours so far, is 👌🏽👌🏽👍🏽👌🏽👍🏽 Your production is an art!!

The more things change the more they stay the same LOL 40 some years ago I did the same job same equipment Co. Delaval in a double 6 herring bone parlar for a 100 cow herd here in NE Conn USA. Other than some new automation it's still the same job This is a great video and brought back some great memories . First glance tells it all, if I dropped my sandwich I would not hesitate to bend over and pick it up and keep eating LOL . Everything sparkles just like it should, I'm glad I found your channel, Pride in your farm shines through young man. You will be seeing more of me LMAO Thanks for a great video

Alf - What do you think is the biggest advancement in dairy farming in the last 40 years? Jan, if you see this question I hope you'll answer it too.
@nectcruiser4 жыл бұрын
@@waterbug85 You know that is a hard question to answer cuz dairy farming has come sooooo far - lets start with genetics - when I was milking our cows produced about 70 Lbs twice a day, just looking at their udders these cows are giving a lot more than that, I would guess 100/110 lbs twice a day,it's hard to tell on a pipeline milking system,we milked into 100# jars. Next would be automation in feeding and manure management LOL Just that little feed sweeper thingy reduces feed waste to almost nothing we had to clean out the manger every 4 to 6 weeks. Genetics in the feed that is grown today and I will say that my old boss would not have grown GMO corn to feed our cows. We were the first farm to have a liquid manure tank and truck mounted tankers to spread it on our fields, all the new systems for poop spraying just blow me away LOL

@@nectcruiser Thanks for giving it a go. Besides the cows utter giving more milk, you say feed mixers and manure management. Interesting, thanks for playing. Anybody else?

I really enjoyed the tour. I was raised on a dairy farm in south central Kansas. We milked 30-60 cows twice a day depending on the season or how the crop year was or looked to be. You tank is HUGE! Obviously you need it for your numbers. Very interesting to see such a large dairy program. Thank you for sharing.
