I live in North Central PA. For decades I back packed, Snowshoed solo in the mountains, some of those areas are part of the PA Wilds. I primarily was a solo hiker. I spent up to two weeks in remote areas solo over the years. I have never seen or saw foot prints or smelled anything that could have been a big foot. I believe part of the reason is a lack of food that an animal of that size could sustain itself. Just when I was convinced there were no Big Foot in our state, I read an article in the Lock Haven express a few years ago about a report of a man that has a cabin near lake Raystown who said he saw an adult Big Foot walking along Pine Creek right around dusk. He said he saw it from a short distance so there was no mistaking what he saw. Just when I was convinced there were no big foot in our area of PA, I find that at least one man saw one about 25 miles from ny house. The area he saw it is not somewhere I would call as remote as my old stomping grounds. You never know.

Look for areas with water sources, food and thick vegetation, woodlands and caves where they can stay hidden. I think Bigfoot in the Eastern U.S. probably live closer to human populations than you think because that's where the resources are! Ten years ago, an old college friend from California came to visit me in the mountains of WVa. She commented that my area was so deeply forested that she wondered if there were Bigfoot here. I pooh-poohed the idea of Bigfoot in this area of the U.S....if they existed at all! A couple of years later I began living alone. I started feeling like I was being watched when I'd be outside working and odd little gifts and footprints started appearing around my door step. Usually after my fenced garden or berry patch had been raided overnight! Eventually I started talking matter of factly to the bushes where I suspected the juveniles were hiding. I discovered they'd been coming by here for generations of both our families. Perhaps they felt bolder once I lived alone.
