There are so many underrated Canadian bands/vocalists. Been listening to them since the 60s. They may not be recognized in many other countries (including the U.S.), but one thing is for sure, CANADA recognizes them and thanks them for some of the best music out there. Remember, the Guess Who is a Canadian band that knocked the Beatles out of the #1 spot on the charts. Long live Canadian music!

ccmyart Celine has a beautiful voice and tbh I think a large part of her fame came from the song that she did for the Titanic movie (which incidentally was American). Although in retrospect she gots nothing on enya but still a nice voice non the less. But fully agree that sass is GREAT right to this day. Also mad props to the OP for not making another cliche millennial attention whore comment 'like this comment if your still listening in *insert year*." The crazy thing is that more than thirty years later, anyone who knows a little about the potential of a voice still wonders (and rightly so) why Sass Jordan has always been, and still is today. Today, an underestimated artist, and not just a little, a lot. This song, for example, has no complexes in the face of thousands of lesser quality songs which have made an enviable place for themselves. I think we have to look either at Sass (did she really want it to go further at that time), at her integrity (like refusing offers that come with bad conditions of monetary / physical (you know what i mean) / career direction / etc..), or, in my opinion, that it was the worst time in history for an Anglo-Quebec artist to find a place. The socio-political context of the time gave no chance, unless, like Jim Corcoran for example, we started singing in French. It's sad, tragic, and unfair. And by the way, before the judgments fall, I am 100% part of this French Quebec tribute. But I have no reserve about having a negative opinion of our closed-mindedness at the time. Fortunately, this era is long gone, but it will have claimed victims, including Sass ;-(

Seen her live in Osoyoo's also with a few other excellent musicians.. the concert was being held in a football field right beside a farmers apple orchid trees. He had just finished harvesting and did his regular thing and trimmed all the dead branches and made about 15 or so huge piles to be cleared in the next few days. He mentioned to security that this could be a potential problem with over 2,000 drunk, high and partners. Security didn't flinch and said " WHATEVER " The bands were Bryan Adam's, Grapes of Wrath, Red hot chili peppers, Extreme, Sass Jordan and Duran Duran and finally Steve Miller performed last. Now you can just imagine such a crowd, great music... something was bound to happen.. 9 bustles of dead tree branches were set fire and we cracked open more beer until fire engines and cops destroyed our night.. 😥😔😟
