Can't watch this video without tearing up. A worthy performance in honor of, arguably, the greatest rock band to ever grace planet earth! Led Zeppelin's reaction........ PRICELESS! America did our boys from across the pond some righteous justice, for sure. Anybody and everybody who had a hand in orchestrating this performance should be very, very proud of themselves. The best tribute to a rock band I have ever seen, hands down! If I had to pick an honorable mention it would have to go to the lead guitarist in his performance in front of Jimmy Page.....spectacular! Great comments during the reaction, I learned a lot, TY.

There are so many things to love about the way this is done. Ann did an amazing job keeping her voice out front and dominate over all those instruments and vocals. There was just enough guitar solo to fit the song but Jason was highlighted at the same time. The people who arranged this and brought in the orchestra and choir so seamlessly did a fantastic job.

In 1979, I met a girl that lived 3 houses from Ann Wilson. Was invited to a "friends and neighbors" Bar-B-Q. I had seen Heart many times before, but there I was... and I sat next to Ann. Her voice MOVED MY HAIR !!! Holy crap. Singing Beatle tunes and such. Have since met many times, and they let me film a lot of their shows. All on my channel !

Loved the gentleman's comments, he seems very knowledgeable. The guitarist is Shane Fontayne. I dont know much about him other than that he's played with a lot of bands over many years, and did a fantastic job here!
@humbertofarias59804 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info William, Yeah I don't know much about him either, but to play that solo in front of the Master, takes guts and talent and he had both that night.
@Dooklawz4 жыл бұрын
I couldn't agree more. I was so impressed with the job he did with Jimmy Page's legendary guitar lead in this performance that I spent a bit of time researching around to find out who this guitarist was. Yea, Mr. Shayne Fontayne, ( what a cool name to boot huh?) I applaud everyone who performed this timeless epic cornerstone of music, Heart, Jason Bonham, all the beautifully orchestrated musicians backing them up, the choir singers... absolutely stellar...and but, last but certainly not least was the guitar work by Mr. Fontayne especially since there he was, in front of the original writer and performer of such a distinctly recognizable and legendary guitar solo stepping right up and nailing it down tighter than a master crafter carpenter in front of all eyes...brilliant job indeed!
@nates10923 жыл бұрын
Shane Fontayne is a session and tour guitarist who worked several gigs since the 1970s. He’s done a tour with Bruce Springsteen. Led Zeppelin may already know either from being in the studio or from concerts that they played.

Heart was originally formed by Ann Wilson and the lead guitarists in the 70's. After some time Nancy came up from Seattle to Vancouver to join them before they were famous. "Magic Man" one of their biggest early hits, was written by Ann for the guitarist who she was dating at the time. They had some big hits in the mid 70's to early 80's then fell off the scene for awhile. Then in the mid to late 80's they reformed with just the two sisters and some random band remembers. Maybe one of the originally Heart members was with them. the drummer or bassist but I am not sure. When they reformed They no longer wrote their songs and they became more mainstream and did a lot of power ballad type music. They actually had a more successful career after they reformed with many hits and for about 5 years they were one of the biggest rock bands in the world.

I have one more trinket of interesting information for you two. I see that you live in Miami. I lived in Miami for 15 years when my work was at Eastern Airlines. I loved Miami, both the area and the people. As you probably remember, the Bee Gees lived in Miami on Star Island. One day, Barry Gibb was driving to work on the I 95 freeway through downtown Miami. As he drove, he noticed the sound of his tires hitting the expansion joints of the bridges. He was amazed at the constant repetitive sound of this. When he got downtown to the recording studio, he mentioned this to the recording technician and suggested that maybe they could use the beat in the new song that they were recording. Barry even gave the song the possible name of "Drive Talking". The technician didn't like that name and suggested "Jive Talking" instead. Now, please listen to the beginning beat of this song and you will hear the bridges of I 95. www.bing.com/videos/search?q=jive+talkin+extended+version&&view=detail&mid=682F3B88238BD2F2B377682F3B88238BD2F2B377&&FORM=VRDGAR&ru=%2Fvideos%2Fsearch%3Fq%3Djive%2Btalkin%2Bextended%2Bversion%26qpvt%3Djive%2Btalkin%2Bextended%2Bversion%26FORM%3DVDRE
