We were both foster care kids, and because of childhood trauma and past relationships he has never really opened his heart to me, even after 5 years of being together and living together. He moved out of state to take a job and I was supposed to move out to him eventually. He broke up with me before I got the chance. Most are scared to even see themselves deeply and will use all kinds of vices to run from themselves and who they really are. I don't know if you know anything about how it feels to be abandoned as a child, what kind of trauma that leaves a person with to deal with, it is a lifetime of healing. His actions have nothing to do with how he feels about me or what he wants, and everything to do with his own shame and fear that he is not good enough. Out of 5 years together, he made 1 mistake, and I will never hold it against him. Be careful offering your own biased opinions about people and their situations. Not everyone is the same.

Well, on our last one together, you nailed me as always. I am getting some time off thanks to my shift change at work and it was needed for me to, “Settle,” and process. A certain love interest rolled in here after a festival this summer with a H-on and a smile! And I let him sleep it off in my bed while I slept in the truck, haha. I wasn’t ready and I’ve been processing it ever since. I definitely wasn’t, “Signalling,” or so I thought. And we do have a past, one that wasn’t good. And my trust has been shattered because it was mentally abusive thanks to his health concerns. But he assures me he’s also in a better place. But I’ve worked so hard at bettering myself the last 5yrs that I’m not so sure I have the energy to help make someone else, “Better.” They need to be in a better place before they ever come through this door.
