I might explain something about jutsus that Itachi used. Each Mangekyo Sharingan has unique ability that can be used in various situations. The most powerful genjutsu (jutsu that attacks the mind) that we know now is Itachi's Tsukuyomi. I think also that the jutsu that created those black flames was Amaterasu. 😊

I don't think it would be much of a contest. Itachi brutally stomps Jiraiya in a fight. As a matter of fact, Itachi doesn't lose to any of the Sannin, individually or altogether. He mops Orochimaru as a little kid at like 14. He mops Orochimaru AND Sasuke on the day he died, no diffing both of them. Nevermind the fact that Kisame is there, Jiraiya stands no chance against them individually, nevermind the both of them. The fight might destroy a city block, maybe, but it wouldn't be a fight so much as a slaughter

Those black flames are from the technique called Amaterasu the 2nd ability granted to Itachi by his Mangekyo Sharingan. The technique draws its name from the Shinto goddess of the sun with the same name. It's the highest level of Katon (Fire Release). Amaterasu produces black flames at the focal point of the user's vision wich are thrown towards the target at very high speeds and in very fast succession. This more often than not makes this tehnique impossible to dodge as you need to get out of the user's line of sight or be faster than the flames themselves (only one person has shown the feat of dodging the flames trough sheer speed). The flames of Amaterasu can burn trough any material, and once casted they will continue to burn until the target is turned to ash and will continue to burn for seven days and seven nights. They are as hot as the sun's surface and worst of all they cannot be extinguished. Once you get hit by them its KO immediately. They are so hot that they can even burn trough normal fire.
