I just read something by a doctor with a Double Phd. One was a linguist of ancient and dead languages. He said in the Bible. The book of Genesis. There was no word in ancient Hebrew for Universe. You forgot Hecate, the ruler of the world between the living and the dead, was also vilified as a witch, when actually she keeps the realms seperate. She is the intermediary, but women through Christianity emergence were vilified, as crowns, witches and wise women or learned women, the old doctors and herbologist. How is it, that so many people don't realize that what they call "The Bible", started as a collection of stories, written by men, and compiled by the original "popes" (yes, plural. Originally, there were "popes" all over the Middle East and Europe) of early Christianity. There were votes on what to include, what to discard, what to rewrite (for their own benefit), and what to completely make up? How is it, that these people can't see that all early religions, including Christianity, speak of multiple "gods". Even the "Old Testament" speaks of multiple "gods", using humans to fight their wars. It seems to me, these "gods" were just as likely to be beings with superior technology to that of early humans. Not "space aliens", per se, just more advanced beings of older societies. If you go back, and read older, and older, Bibles, the story changes, from what modern Bibles tell us. But, no one will even entertain the idea that anything other than what they learned in childhood Christian indoctrination (Sunday school) is true. I am not trying to be offensive. I am curious about the truth behind the tales. What we are told is "truth", doesn't make a lot of sense, nor does it answer any deep questions. And, it presents many contradictions.

I think asking people to look at things this way is asking them to tear down their entire worldview, and that is terrifying. In the end I think Christianity should be a positive force in the world, because at the heart of it is Jesus’s message of love and compassion. When people twist it to their own agenda or get hung up on details in the Old Testament is when I think there can be problems.

I liked this video, and subscribed. I disagree with a couple of the stereotypical views of Metal, but, all in all, you got a few points out, that I hadn't heard before. And, I am always interested in learning about how different religions from all over the world tie in with each other, as I have been doing a somewhat amateurist research into that very thing. And the discovery of items from one continent, in another one, across a great ocean, at a time that we have been told that the heighth of contemporary technology was a pile of rocks, a few sticks, and some bronze that was mysteriously invented by these barely beyond troglodite protopeople. The Hebrew bible, Old Testament mentions the story of Lucifer, an angel from heaven, now Satan, a fallen angel to earth whose a prenatural demon. And the other angels, who fell and are renamed demons. They existed before humans. And anyone having access to the Old Testament and New Testament had access to the stories of Satan in both books.

I would not say that Pan is the origin for Satan. The concept of the "Accuser" existed separately among the Hebrews. The imagery of Pan was absorbed into the cultural depictions of the Christian understanding of Satan, but did not itself originate it.

The documentary doesnt mention the influence of Zoroastrianism on Judaic belief, once one of the worlds great religions, with its concept of dualism - two deities, one good, one evil, in cosmic conflict, played out in the world of matter - this is clearly the origin of the devil or satan in the old testament, adapted to monotheism, explaining the clear difficulty in the Bible of reconciling Satan into a belief which accepts only one supreme being. Pan's appearance is quite probably based on actual descrptions of once real people, medieval frescos in Balkan monasteries show shepherds wearing fur trousers, there's even an early photo of one, and Otzi the Iceman who died over 5,000 years ago in the Alps wore trousers of goats fur. The name Pan has been calculated from a Proto Indo European herder deity from when these speakers roamed the grasslands of the asian steppe. folktales certainly in the British Isles depicted a wild man of the woods such as the Ghillie Dubh and similar as a helpful character aiding those lost especially children. In Isle of Man folklore is Fenodyree who could be persuaded to do unskilled farm work for food, but distained clothes, the Celtic scholar Rhys derived the name from Norse meaning hairy leggings. Witches too were originally seen as good and useful characters, diviners, originally most were men, wicca, but the fact its female form, wicce, pronounced "wi(t)che", became the pejorative in English shows a growing misogyny under the Christian church.

@@cherishjoelene Yes, Ahirman is the evil god in Zoroastrianism. The Jewish exiles were exposed to the concept of an evil/good dualism in captivity under the Persian Empire. On the return from exile (under the edict of Cyrus) Jews tried to develop a pure monotheism (only our God exists), rather than the henotheistic (other gods exist, but our God is better) view from before the captivity. Previously (and still, in a pure monotheism) God was responsible for evil as well as good, so we had better make Him/Her happy. Exposure to Ahriman provided a model for a personification of evil as an elemental force, and models of rebellion fit better into monotheism (although Free Will makes this complicated). And so doing conveniently no longer made God responsible for Evil (after all, He makes EVERYTHING). Of course it's far more complicated than this, and IF the Enochian literature is very old then in the story of the Fall of the Watchers we see another attempt to provide for an origin of evil and devils so as to make God seperate from evil - assuming angels have free will. In this case Azazel and Samyaza (the two leaders of the Watchers rebellion) have many of the attributes later ascribed to Satan. Notably in this case at least some of the blame is ascribed to human women, a mysogynist theme that makes me think it is a VERY old story.

Hello.. it wasn’t the “Early Christians” converting pagans,it was the cult known as the Catholic Church or then,Rome. The same group who hunted down “early Christians” and burned them at the stake,also. Occulted history always fills in the blanks and explains so many other things. Jesus seemed to be a Taoist that understood the inner god and Heaven but the Jews didn’t like that so they got Rome to do their dirty work (same reason they’re still chasing the 10 scattered tribes across the world,pushing migration to destroy us from within) The early Christians consisted of Jesus’ family, disciples and family elders, and they all built a country and called it Europa (modern day Europe) The whole Bible is our history..not all of mankind. That’s nonsense

Pretty sure all early Christians were Catholics, as other denominations didn’t exist until after the reformation, right? Unless you’re talking about gnostic Christian’s, but I think most of that disagreement was settled internally by the time of the council of Nicea. @@thepostapocalypse Sorry, but no. "Roman Catholic" didn't really exist until the 3rd or 4th century. Early Christianity was incredibly diverse, much more so than today. The "Original Church" was led by James the Just, brother of Jesus. They were the "Poor of Jerusalem", they lived communally and kept Jewish Law. The last traces of this church, also known as the Ebionites, died out around the time of Muhammed. The key characteristics of Roman Catholicism (Marionism, Priests as intermediaries, veneration of the dead etc) arose during the 3rd century. I should also point out that all the Orthodox churches are catholic.

This idea that mistakes allegedly make you horrible, weak, not credible and having committed some terrible sin of some sort. Its literally the rejection of the natural human learning process, which is the process of gaining knowledge and wisdom through the experience of trial and error, aka -- making mistakes. Now, everyone has such a fear of seeming wrong and on the flip side also such a strong addiction to the idea of being perceived as being correct, that we're just not allowed to ever make a mistake or be wrong about anything, ever. Thats the neurotic mentality that so many people fall into, and it can be seen in the comments sections of just about anything, everywhere on the internet.

I think the first christians made a mistake on demonizing the weregoat. Initially, Pan and other horned hybrids represented such a balance between the reason and instinct as well as the human and the animal. Theoretically, it does make sense, for how are we supposed to reach our maximum potential if we're not familiarized with our body and instincts? How are we supposed to get in touch with our spirituality if we don't appreciate what we have on earth? How are we supposed to know ourselves if we don't know our body first?

God give us free will. A choice to do what is right and wrong and try to live by Christ’s teachings. The Angels were given a one off choice upon their creation, to follow God or be damned to eternity. Thanks to Christ’s suffering and death on the cross for our sins, we have a choice in our lifetime of which route to take. Satan was written about as a generalized adversary. The word Satan just means “adversary” and this title applied to many beings. It wasn’t until Christianity began to consolidate power that Satan became the embodiment of evil, a singular entity conflated with Lucifer and other characters. At least that’s my understanding.
