Well, the Holy Spirit has led me to understand that the ram and goat prophecy of Daniel 8 is presently being fulfilled. Now I know what most will say, but look at v17 before you do! Greece conquering Medo-Persia is but the 3rd kingdom conquering the 2nd; the time of the end occurs during the 4th. I believe the ram's 2 horns are Britian and America (the two most recent global economic empires, £ then $) who's emergence and demise coincided with WW1 and the League of Nations and WW2 which spawned the UN. The UN, coming from the west and being of the 7th kingdom (America?; Rev 17:11) breaks the horns (see parallel to Jacob's prophecy of Ephraim and Manasseh Gen 48:19/Dan 8:3) and trampling the residue (sovereign democracies?) sweeps across the globe without touching the ground. The UN holds ever increasing sway globally (think WHO and the IHR treaty) despite that it holds no territory upon which it could put down it's feet. This goat (the UN) then morphs into the beast of revelation, the end time kingdom.
