These tapes have such a unique sound like the old Mercyful Fate tapes. Thanks for enriching my life with this great music!

Bravo et merci pour cette mise en ligne. Indépendamment de la qualité du groupe et de ses compositions, il faut saluer le travail d'archiviste.

Oppression is one of my all-time favorite NWOBHM songs; listened to it countless times since getting a copy around 1982 or so. This version doesn't have the "thunk" around the 9:16 mark that mine did, when someone along the way bumped the tape deck while making a copy. LOL.

I completely agree, it's also one of my favourites; phenomenal track, especially for 1981.

I played in the metal band THUNDER in the 80,s and our first demo tape was found and put on KZbin recently and it was awesome to hear it again, we released a album called cutthroat and it rocks !! Check it out on KZbin, now some Brits use the name thunder , I seen our singer Michael mcnamara had commented on our song and we talked back and forth on it , our guitarist Bruce batten passed away recently, I miss him much

OMG - remember having some letter based conversation with the band in the early 80s when discussing to get them to Hamburg for a concert in the then famous metal disco Sounds. Heard them first on the Roxcalibur album.

Impressive as hell. They really lived up to their name

Oppression seems more like a thrash metal song! Reminds me somehow the Axe crazy from Jaguar, that appeared in their early 1982 single. But musically (on the guitar) the 1983 song Demon Pact from the band Demon Pact is very close to Oppression. But I just found out that the song from Demon Pact appeared in a demo that could be on 1982 or even (as a commentator says) 1980

Did they ever rerecord these tracks? Incredible by their own of course but I'd love to hear how Brian Ross might have interpreted them.
