If you live on flat Earth, then sorry, but no satellite TV for you!
No way to point your dish in the right direction!

Thanks for the animation, Jos. It nicely demonstrates what any dish installer would expect. The math confirms it... unless of course math is fake. I don't think balloons would do well at 22 thousand miles. 🎈

You know I was talking to a FE'er for the last few days about a rocket he says hit the firmament rather than despun and deployed its parachute. And just a few minutes ago, I thought about this very issue with satellite look angles. When I was deployed to Iraq we used SES-4 which has an elevation of only 11 degrees from the location we were at. Blasted safety on the dish was locked to 20 degrees. So some lumber under the back legs and sandbags later, we were tracking for carrier detect. Now..... this is the same satellite we ATTEMPTED to use stateside from a few locations. and with an elevation of only 3 degrees, was impossible to get a shot on. If the earth were flat, there would have been ZERO issues as the same bird would have been somewhere around 20 degrees elevation and at a completely different azimuth about 30 degrees in the wrong direction.

Jos, one thing that that's interesting is that your graphics are accurate to scale for distances. Of course we know the satellite is too large to scale, but reducing it to a point would destroy the communication here. At -7,900 miles- 12,714 km in diameter, and the satellite at 35,786 km, the satellite is a smersch over 2.81 Earth diameters away. Measure your graphic and the distances are perfectly to scale! For those doing this at home, remember you measure this from the center of gravity of Earth, not its surface. You are consistently the best at what you do: graphics wizardry. Another great video.

RockinRobbins13 One other thing to note is that the vector arrows shown in your globe converge at NO PLACE below the geosynchronous orbit. Satellites dishes don't recieve the signals from satellites in the space because a satellite dish is so sensitive a slight movement of the dish it shows no signal so we know all signals we recieve is from ground towers on the mountain and cables under ocean. Check it out.............................
@RockinRobbins13
@RockinRobbins13 5 жыл бұрын
@@godschild5587 Satellite dishes don't point at ground towers. Where I live in Florida they don't point at mountains, or under the ocean. Since the software on my TV lets me point the antenna up in the air at a precise point and nowhere but near that point do I receive the signal, that tells me that my antenna is pointed at the source: not a mountain, not a tower, not an under-ocean cable. It's pointed at a satellite, and through a 13" telescope I have photographed this satellite. I can also take the altitude and azimuth from many different ground stations, plot the vectors toward that satellite and they will all intersect exactly where I photographed the satellite, 22,230 miles above the Earth. We all know that the signals we receive do not come from ground towers on the mountain and cables under the ocean. That's just a pathetic meme you parroted from one of the Flatopian Cult high priests. We who have checked it out, who have done the research, know that television satellites are really in space, really hovering over a single position on Earth, really broadcasting that signal, just as our own senses tell us. Believe your senses, bub. Research spherical Earth. Conduct honest, verifiable, repeatable experiments. Believe the results. Earth is a 7,900 mile diameter six sextillion ton sphere orbiting the Sun at 93 million miles away. To not believe that you have to not believe your own senses and everyday experiences.

@LOST ANARCHIST, the satellite TV dishes reflect the signal from the satellite into a LNBF receiver that is mounted at foot or so in front of and below the centerline of the dish. There are two reasons to confront the Flatopian Cultists 1)People who are genuinely confused by their lies and trying to evaluate the trickery come to these videos looking for the truth. We owe it to people to convince them that the entire world hasn't gone wacko insane, and that they can have confident that science is the legitimate process by which we learn the truth about the shape of Earth, the existence of space, the existence of satellites, the distances of solar system objects and much, much more. We post for the sane, not the insane. The Japanese are fond of saying that only death cures insanity. They are right. 2)We oppose them because given enough leeway, wacko derangement becomes the norm. In 1780s France, anti-intellectual, anti-science weirdos seized control of France. They guillotined prominent scientists, saying "they were of no use to the revolution." They banned scientific societies and taught education was horrible programming of revolutionary minds. They killed hundreds of thousands of innocent people. If we let them go as "normal people" and don't bother them they will become dangerous. Someone so addicted to authority that they would abandon every aspect of daily experience and take up the cause of Flatopia is capable of just about any deranged leader who wants to similarly manipulate them for violent and evil means. We are not trying to convince Flatopians and their fellow travelers, the Conspiracy Enthusiasts. We are convincing the rest of humanity that they are wrong and demonstrating how enslaved they are to ridiculously obvious and false dogma, propagated by their Flatopian Cult high priests, which they worship, accepting every word they say without question, needing no evidence or proof that these lying high priests are telling the truth.

Mr. Leys, you are great in trashing the FE with those animations. And that gave me a video idea. Is it possible for you to have a comparison between globe Earth and FE showing some observations? For example, at first the 2 models will be shown. Then an observation will take place in the animation like the equinox and how will the 2 models fit the observation. Then another observation takes place like the eclipse/s. What I'm pointing out here is the globe Earth will be as it is and the FE will be changing all the time depending on the observation given. That is when the morphing will take place on the FE model. I'm not sure if this was done already but I know you demonstrated already the sunlight in FE. This is a suggestion only. I'm not capable of creating the animation myself but if you'd hear me out, huge thanks for looking into this suggestion. I love your works. -Yesterdaily

@@godschild5587 Why do you think those satellites are called «geo-SYNCHRONOUS satellites»? Answer : They are carefully placed into orbits that keep them in a constant position over a specific location. Next : Look at the direction those satellite dishes are oriented. The ALL point UPWARD ! Also, they all point in the same direction. It's just impossible to have towers that are high enough, and not have them converge to a specific ground location. Earth have been known to be spherical for AT LEAST the last 2500 years! It's rotation have been demonstrated and measured 1000's of times over the last 300 to 400 years. It's orbital movement around the Sun have been demonstrated and measured for almost as long. NO evidences whatsoever are compatible with a flat earth. *cycleman* _"Must be very crowded up there in space. It has to be flat 😎"_ If Earth were a domed dirt pizza as you Flatopian Earth Cultists lie about, then the area above Earth for satellites would be 2*the radius squared of the pizza times Pi, times the height above the Earth of the furthest satellite. For the sphere of Earth, the equation is 2 times the radius CUBED, where the radius includes the height to the highest satellite. We'll pretend the domed dirt pizza is 200 miles across and satellites are 200 miles high. So the area for the satellites to play (including within the atmosphere) is 200 squared times 200 or 25,120,000 cubic miles. However on a spherical Earth 200 miles in diameter with satellites 200 miles above that has a radius of 300 miles, CUBED, times pi. That's 169,560,000 cubic miles for the same number of satellites to play in, more than six times less crowded. Edit: actually my calculation is oversimplified, because you have to subtract the area that a medium sized rocky planet occupies. It still leaves much more area for satellites than a flat Earth would. And how do satellites stay up if they're not orbiting a sphere? This is the basis of why Flatopians have to take their most extraordinary error: the denial of gravity.
@appresley4071
@appresley4071 5 жыл бұрын
There are just under 5000 satellites in space, most too small to be seen. There are about 40,000 jet aeroplanes also flying the skies. So jets outnumber satellites eight to one. The flight path above you is eight times as crowded. Then most planes fly at similar altitudes, whereas satellites are not limited to a specific altitude, some are 250 miles high, the furthest about 290,000 miles. That is a very large area for 5000 satellites to orbit earth.

@Anthony Davis Some of your points in your post aren't quite right. The ISS does experience a little bit of atmospheric drag, which slows down its orbital velocity and brings its orbit closer to Earth than desired. Infrequently and not on a schedule, but as the situation warrants, ISS boosts in prograde to raise its orbit back to nominal parameters. This requires two boosts, 180 degrees apart in its orbit, to raise apogee and perigee. A single burn raises the opposite side or the orbit but does not affect where the ISS is when the burn is made. You are confused about satellites being _"pushed out of Earth's orbit."_ and _"beyond Earth's gravity."_ There is no place beyond Earth's gravity. You can't raise the orgit "out of Earth's orbit" without exceeding 25,000 miles per hour, escape velocity for orbiting Earth when you change frames of reference from Earth orbit to Solar orbit. But even then you are still subject to Earth's gravity. What you are thinking about is the limited number of geosynchronous orbit "parking spots." They are licensed out and owners of each spot are required, at the end of their satellite's life, to boost the satellite up into a higher, no longer geosynchronous orbit so that spot is available for the next licensee. The old satellite is still in orbit, just not taking up especially valuable space in a geosynchronous orbital spot. Similarly, most satellites aren't just allowed to decay slowly until they reenter Earth's atmosphere naturally. Nowdays, satellites have retro-rockets so they can be deorbited to a specific graveyard spot in the South Pacific Ocean, furthest from any land mass.

While connected to the internet with cellular data or WiFi, download an offline google map from a zone where you know there is no cell tower coverage. Now, go that place, check that you don't have coverage and then open google maps on the smartphone. Be sure GPS is activated, and look how the smartphone is able to track your position on the downloaded map. I did it, and it works. If there are no cell towers in sight to give me coverage for calls or data, how the hell is the phone tracking my position accurately on the map?

Lmao this is all wrong! This would be correct except satellites in space don't exist and the ones on the ground are aimed at the dome not to an orbiting satellite in space! Signals are aimed at the dome and bounced back n forth from senders to receivers and vice versa and until folks understand that a flat earth will.never make any sense to them! Signals can also be bounced back forth from plane or balloon satellites like for instance an AWAX plane which would not be necessary or have any use if orbiting satellites in space existed! Remember space outside the atmosphere is water and we can't go there, the only space we can go is under the atmosphere or high in the sky!

Television and other telecommunication signals are not "bounced". That is an unfortunate term that is used. The uplink frequencies and the downlink frequencies are different. It is transmitted up on an uplink frequency and then transmitted back down on a different downlink frequency. FlerrFerrs should not be allowed to use technology!

How does the satellite break through the glass dome? Was the dome there before glass was invented? Wouldn't we have choked on our own fumes by now? Wouldn't the hot (everyone agrees the sun is hot, I hope) sun have melted the glass by now and the glass would have had to have been repaired or replaced? How could the dome have been installed before there were cranes, even if cranes were used to put it up? Wouldn't someone have to periodically clean the dome of all the particulate from the surface people and dust, etc? Wouldn't the dome act as a heat shield to keep the heat in and we would have fried by now? I need answers from Flat Earthers. I will be convinced of flat earth with logical answers to just these questions, never mind the scientific explanations. Leave those to the astro nerds. From NASA: Rigid Body Equations of Motion Referenced to an Arbitrary Fixed Point on the Body There are several approaches that can be used to develop the general equations of motion. The one selected here starts with Newton’s laws applied to a collection of particles defining the rigid body (any number of dynamics or physics books can serve as references, e.g. reference 2). In this paper, the rigid body equations of motion over a flat non-rotating earth are developed that are not necessarily referenced to the body’s center of mass. Such equations will be used in the next section when the body loses a portion of its mass and it is desired to track the motion of the body’s previous center of mass/reference frame now that the mass center has moved to a new position.

Do you use GPS and maps on your mobile phone or in your car? Depending on what type of use you have, you may be using satellite or you may be using satellite. It's not one or the other. Most consumers use both without realizing it. Communication doesn't mean phone calls and cable TV. There are also some places on Earth where yo can ONLY communicate via satellite. But fibre optic is faster and has more bandwidth than satellite so it is preferred by service providers of certain services. And satellite is much cheaper over LONG distances, so it may be preferable for services that go over such distances. Anyway, the point is that you should not think of fibre-optic and satellite as an either-or choice and that was not the point of this video. It was simply using the EXAMPLE of how satellites work to prove a specific point.
