Vishnu is supreme. The name Shiva also have a meaning as one who does all good and Brahma means one who is superior. All the names belongs to vishnu alone but the persons are different. Lord's named Lakshmi, Brahma and Shiva are devotees of Vishnu. Evidence is in Veda, VishnuSahasranāma and BhaghavatGita. Vishnu is only purest and devoid of defects hence, only god. God is only independent reality, rest all which includes lives and matter are dependent realities.

Sir then why did bhagavan SriRamachandra(the incarnation of bhagavan Vishnu) prayed and and did pooja to shiva in Ramesh Aram.shiva also prays Vishnu to protect him from bhasmasura . therefore I believe both are equally great

@@mnjayaramjayaram3279 sir, rāma and Krishna (incarnations of Vishnu) was to practically teach people how to live. Rāma also bowed to his parents, rāma also worshipped Vishnu and so did to Shiva. Shiva is superior to all humans and we should respect him whose procedure is showed by rāma. Vishnu never worshipped anyone in original form. Rāma just followed rules made by himself. Krishna is BhaghavatGita told that he is within everything and everyone as driving force of all according to individual character. Yejur Veda and Bhaghavata too tells Vishnu alone is eternally purest without defects who made Lakshmi, Brahma, Shiva and all others. All names belongs to vishnu. Hence Hari is greatest.

Sir but in Brahmasuta the greatest sage Veda Vyasa believed to be bhagavan Vishnu visualises and writes that all the gods(vishnu,shiva,brahma etc) come from the single basic matter and goes into the same.also in Vedas it is told that the avyakta Brahman did tapas in water for several years and took the form of Narayana . The purusha sukta tells that the supreme basic matter is unimaginable using human limit i.e it has several head,eyes,legs which is impossible to see in human limit.This sukta does not tell us that it is only Narayana.It is the single eternal formless truth from which the form taken Narayana came.
