6:58 I started playing this mod after seeing your series on it. I think I'm a little ahead of you now. Word of caution: Overfill your water to your generators. Put some containers inline so you never run out. If you don't, and the water runs low, or runs out, it's going to stop everything and it's a pain in the ass to get it started back up again (because you need to refill your water, which requires power). Also, with your normal ore processing lines, don't get too hooked on one setup. As soon as you unlock another stage of processing, you'll need to redo everything. I've rebuilt my factory 4 times already, just so I can implement the new processing... lol.
@Xero1of12 жыл бұрын
Also, 1 normal Bio-water node was enough (for me) to power 3 generators, and still have too much biofuel... The water that comes from the process, though, isn't enough. You could probably power 4 or 5 generators from a single normal bio-water node... and since you have two of them, you're probably looking at 8-10 generators worth of biofuel production.
@BEDplaysGAMES2 жыл бұрын
You're absolutely correct. I wrote about it in the video description, but basically as soon as I finished the episode I went back to take a screenshot for my video thumbnail. Power cut. Took me 45 minutes to get it going again. Turns out that extra little bump-up-higher I had with the water pipes was too much for the headlift and the system was starved of water, and therefore steam...and therefore power. Adding a buffer is a great idea, I'll try to remember to do it. I appreciate your ore processing comment too. Really hits home. For some reason I've built it into my Satisfactory play-style that I try to add-on instead of rebuild. But you're absolutely right, I need to just tear it out and rebuild it. I'm afraid that doesn't make for terribly interesting TV, so I'll have to find a balance to keep the videos entertaining.

@@BEDplaysGAMES suggestion based on tier 4 unlocks, with a few good modules that increases outputs for miners (+50% with water or +100% with slug juice) IF you plan to tear down and rebuild slowly. - First rush to Tier 3, no matter how you do it (hand craft or spaghetti belts). Just do it. Get past the first elevator unlocks asap. Get the 48x48 blueprint fast (MK2). - Find a location with one pure node or a couple of normal/inpure nodes. Yes impure is useful in this mod. In plain satisfactory you had 2 impures=1 normal and 2 normals = 1 pure. In this mod this is not the case. 2 Impures can output way more than a single normal. - So you have found your node(s). First, leave about 20 blocks of space around the miner. This is point A. Point B is the factory entrance, where the ingots come through. And point C is a mini factory, on a side, to process byproducts (or just sink them). - So A = miner factory that sends ingots to B, the actual factory. Now, miner does get upgrades with modules. This alters the inputs and outputs of the miner. If you have the smelter module installed, then a belt from A to B is sufficient. If not, then you need to process the outputs. This will be done right above the miner. - One level per step of process. So something A=miner to A1=sorter to A2=crusher to A3=liquid... etc. Each process step needs a little less space, leaving you with enough room for belt-works. Each floor will get inputs from the floor below, send proper outputs to above floor and byproducts on the side (on the same side, all byproducts). Final floor will output the ingots back to ground floor (yes, ground floor). Why ground? Because thats where the entrance to the main factory (B) is. Or,.,. thats where the entrance to a truck station is. - On point C (byproducts facility/mini factory) you build whatever you need, but outside the 10-15 empty zone. Again this will just sink or process the byproducts, again in a 'tower' logic if needed. Most common byproducts can be combined into something new, so after a while you will start collecting them and transfer them to proper locations. - Now with MK2 blueprints 48x48,these 'towers' will be a pain to build, only once. This i why you left the 20 blocks empty around the miner. - So all you have to do afterwards, is delete the miner tower only and then, place a new blueprint with the new unlocks. Your main process factory (point B) is left mostly unchanged (just small alterations/corrections to facilitate the new inputs) Final suggestion: construct a biofuel factory that does NOT burn the biofuel, but stores it. This will be used as fuel for trucks instead of coal. The 3 coal patches on south of desert, relative near to your base, will be used for steel. You need something like 1 iron per 2 coal for 1 steel, if memory servers. And at this point you will need lots of steel. The 2 other coal locations in desert (north-east and east) are too far at this stage to be used for steel. As far as i understand this mod, it is a logistic nightmare, in a realistic way. When you mine something (in real life), you never get pure outcome. You need to process, filter and clear the mining material until you get what you need. And this is something this mod, does in an awesome way.

If you want to centre a pipe junction on an existing pipe you can try putting a junction down on the floor and then pressing ctrl when attempting to align the junction on the pipe. It should snap to line up with the one you put on the floor. I hope this helps. :)

As a note, the power generator MK1 produces 150MW of power no matter the fuel. So biofuel or coal yield the same output. There are 3 more dirty water nodes on the right side of the desert, near the lakes, for you to setup another biofuel power plant (you will need it if you plan on seting up crop farms and slugs incubators). I use the ingot module mostly on remote nodes (like the caterium/quartz products) where the by-products are hard to handle/transfer (not to mention very expensive on power to sink). On all other nodes... byproducts works perfectly to produce all the required items. Keep up the good work.

Super hyped for this episode! I'm playing along with you, just got to stage 3 and 4 just 10 minutes ago. So lets get started with your power, as you can imagine, you will need lots of it, even in stage 2. I went with about 1500 for automating everything except rotors. About your base plans, I really like the idea of a packed city, I always spread my builds out and try to tell a story with them (I'm using a few decoration mods for that). Maybe you could try streaming when you want to build something? Btw cheers to the Wurstgulasch-Guy, wahrer Ehrenmann! Could you name the next doggo "Hackschnitzel"? The smelting module isn't as OP as it seems, you will see soon :D really really like how this mod balances early game stuff and improves on it later on! If that's not cheating for you, the Ficsmas Calender has 20 Power shards in one of its doors, maybe they could come in handy. Keep it up man, love your chill vibe :D

I love that you're playing along! I think with the compact biomass alt recipe I unlocked that I could get 2200MW out of each biological water node. So that's 8800MW with all 4. I'm not sure I have the patience to do that before I unlock the next power generation though. I'm still on the fence about the city. I love the idea but everytime I think about starting to build toward it I get overwhelmed. You're not the first to ask or suggest streaming. I don't know how to do it, but I'll look into it for sure. Sounds fun! I can't wait to meet Hackschnitzel. He's second in line for new doggos. Or third, I supposed. I'm afraid I'll have to replace wurst-gulasch!

I think I saw in the codex? on my own playthrough, the boilers take 22.5 m3 water per minute, not just a solid 22, so you need a little bit extra. The numbers do work out a bit nicer that way, at least. In theory, anyways.

@@BEDplaysGAMES It's definitely a bit fiddly, for sure. My power plant kept giving me problems now and again, until I *think* I fixed all the problems. My biggest problem was with producing only the amount of water needed, and not any more or less. Not enough, and the boilers stop working. Too much, and the filters clogged and stopped making biomass. Didn't quite figure it out until I looked it up in the in-game wiki and found out the 22.5 thing. There are recipes you can search for hot steam and such.

no idea on shards yet (havent progress mush in mam) BUT.. hints of slug juice that you can insert into your miners to increase extraction by 100% (a module in T3/T4 range) so a slug farm is something we must invest into for even better yields of raw resources. Still looking on how to produce that juice though.
@BEDplaysGAMES2 жыл бұрын
I think you're right. I'm sure I'll get to that next episode, since I think the reason I hadn't unlocked it before was it required zinc? I can't remember perfectly, but I'm super pumped to try it!
@kzar992 жыл бұрын
@@BEDplaysGAMES at tier 3 i believe you will unlock a new module for your miners. One that will allow you to put water (for starters) in the miner to increase yield by 50%. Of cource this will mess up the existing ratios so... rebuild or build new factories. You will also unlock a couple more buildings that will allow you to melt down ores into liquid form, combine them again with water and cool them. This will give you something like x2 or x3 the original output (plus byproducts). So something like 60 output from miner becomes 120 ingots. So after all these unlocks are implemented, a single pure copper node (forget the new name) that has zinc as byproduct, will provide you with ~100 zinc plates per minute. Not bad for a single miner.
