System stress testing is a legitimate profession, and even if you don't wanna be a KZbinr, you can still do this sort of thing and earn a paycheck. That's basically what Josh is doing. Every video he does is a brief 'how to' guide for stress testing.

@@ItsBitz They did. The Devs asked him for his save-file with the conveyor tornado, so they could use it to optimize the game. His save-file is the main reason performance got so much better in the following updates.

One thing I allowed myself, was where I had a belt that I wanted to run straight over to a factory, there was a solid wall of rock in the way, so I built foundation partially clipped into the terrain, surrounded with wills on all sides, with the conveyor wall on the appropriate side, and the same on the opposite side of the rock, connected by a belt. Made it look like a little infrastructure project, where I'd tunneled through the rock. Didn't have to divert the belt, and only took me 10x as long as just going around lol.

You weren't kidding about Josh having patience. Most of his videos require a gazillion hours of game play, because he likes to play in such a unique way. Also, he's not afraid to grind hours and hours just to make something ridiculous that will be shown on screen for a few seconds.
