So is the black only food coloring and does it have a licorice flavor to it? And the white powder is only for color as well correct? Or does that have flavor as well? Is it the liquid itself that has the desired flavor? I watch these with so many questions.

The black color has licorice flavor. The syrup is mostly sugar. The white powder is citric acid.

The liquid candy in the pot already has the desired flavor, the black is purely pigment for the look, as well as the white.

⁠@@maboleththe white has color, and they didn’t add citric acid to this batch. The black color is just color. The flavor is added to the sugar mixture at the end before pouring it out onto the table.
