You are the reason I got into jelly gouache, and gouache in general, and I love working with them so much (even if I still use watercolor more frequently). I am kind of in between pieces right now, but since my birthday is coming up next week, my birthday self-portrait will probably be my next piece (done in jelly gouache, how appropriate). I really do like the neon yellow of the grass. I didn't think I would, but it makes it kind of look like the light from the moon is making it glow.

I really love that you're using the Kasey Golden washi tape, btw. Also! Love these. I have two Miya Himi palettes and am using them currently for an inktober alternative challenge I wrote for myself. I'm painting pokemon according to my prompt list all in gouache. Alright had problems with the sketchbook I chose...even kneaded erasers seem to damage the paper. Tape, even low tack, seems to be its worst enemy. So the challenge will be another level of difficult besides learning to improve with gouache! Anyway! Good work here. I do love the landscapes you paint in these jelly gouache videos. I can't wait for the chance to try metallic himi gouache!

Hello Steph! I always enjoy your videos! Love how this little painting came out! I couldn't see much of the metallic but I love the bright neon for the ground! And I have been working on illustrations for children's picture books! I've done a couple this year. They are a lot of work but they're definitely worth it. I hope one day I could just do illustration for a living! But besides that now I really want to get my jelly gouache paint out again and paint something and not just draw on my iPad!

I love your landscape, I always struggle to give mountains their sense of scale and weight. Currently I am working on Inktober, but as soon as that is done I am going to try and learn how to draw carnations in pastels. They are tricky little suckers.

Art is about the fun and the fun in the process of making it 😊 it doesn’t have to be perfect. I like your painting you did, the neon yellow looks so good against all the dark blues. Currently I’m out :( The lupus and artritis infected my right drawing hand, so everything I do is so painful. I was working on more surrealistic paintings & drawings, a lot of cats again … but I’m stuck with so many ideas and motivation but the pain is so freaking hard to deal with. I’m doing some abstract portraits with my left hand, but now that hand is getting infected too pfff

I think you conveyed stormy yet calming in the sky very well. The whole picture overall is very calming. I'm one that rather enjoys storms so they are always calming to me in a way anyway. haha I'm working on a bit of an atc-tober. Trying to do one art card a day. I already have to catch up as I fell asleep before finishing yesterdays. Oops. I'm also working on setting up my office to try filming painting again. I only did it once before and got scared but it's years later now and I want to try again. x3 Anyway, keep up the lovely work. You're always great to put on and paint along to. :D

I have always had a love hate with gouache. I just think the jelly gouache is just a gimmick to sell a paint that is not quite as good a gouache in the tube. I worked for a few years adding colors to designs with gouache and then it got photographed then into the trash it went! I believe this is why gouache was considered a substandard quality paint for many years. I think you do a great job with your gouache paintings and your comics are wonderful! I enjoyed this video and I look forward to your next painting, gouache of not! I am still learning how to use soft pastels in a loose style that gives me more freedom to break out of the watercolor tightness I always seem to get myself into. Please have a lovely day!

I am doing lots of playing in my sketchbook lately and was painting a tea cup while watching this and got so in the meditative zone that I rinsed my brush full of jelly gouache in my iced coffee!!! Thanks to you I finally caved and bought my first set of jelly gouache😁. Just the Arrtx 18 set, since this is the only one available where I am. There might also be a Himi 70 colours set on the horizon. It was in my recommendations on eBay, but I didn't verify if it is real. Are you also going to try out poster colours? I think you might like them. Enjoyed the video as always.

I always love the way you use color, and the composition of this one is beautiful. I can't seem to remember, but have you ever used liquid gilding? I've used it with oils and acrylics, and I think you'd do some really cool stuff with it! I'm not really doing much art stuff at the moment besides the Art Snacks October ink prompt. Well, I guess I am the lead designer/illustrator for a small magazine and I do some design for my marketing job, so that should count. I'm about to have surgery, so I might do more art stuff in the 2+ weeks I can't work.
