I would definitely respect Jesse’s wishes on Macho, since he has his own views and values for grooming. If you can convince him is one thing, but I’d avoid doing something without his permission. Thanks for the adorable video! Bear looks gorgeous and I always am happy to see your content :)

Macho is Jesse's pony so I would respect his wishes. Using permanent hair color to dye Macho's main and tail would only give you temporary results anyway. Dyed hair turns red in the sun even faster than natural hair. People who dye their hair black need to have it touched up every 4 to 6 weeks. If my friend waits 6 weeks, it's already turning red. HIs mane and tail could turn out to be an ugly red rather than the pretty red he has now, and it would take years to grow out. The chemical in hair dye could affect his health by causing an allergic reaction. Best to leave Macho's hair as is.

I use to trim my mares Whiskers regularly, never had a problem. They look better removed in most cases.

Bear is so cute, fluffy or clipped. You need a couple of large, sturdy pedestals for him to stand on to raise him up to a less back-breaking level while being clipped. I'm amazed by how much winter coat the ponies grow considering it doesn't get very cold in the Netherlands. But I guess that's all controlled by sunlight, hormones and genetic heritage rather than temperature. If it was temperature controlled, every horse here in Canada would have a coat like a musk ox. Bear was definitely happy to get back with Chase and Annie in the non-diet pasture. After Jesse threatening to clip your hair while you're sleeping Matt, I wouldn't mess with Macho lol. I like a very black mane and tail but there's nothing bad about the sun lightened color of Macho's hair either.

Clipping my mini is a back breaker for sure! I always start with clipping legs, up to the knees first! Then I clip face, under belly, and finish with the main body, since main body is the easiest to clip and gives your back a break. I just prefer to get the hardest parts over with first I guess. That way by the time I start to burn out I am already done with the worst of it. He has beautiful dapples btw!

If you buy two more blades then you can switch them out when they get hot. You also need to put a super thin layer of oil on the blades to reduce friction.

Such a great vid as always. Just a tip, if you bath and dry the horse before clipping, it helps for an easier clip and the lack of dust and dirt helps keep the clippers cool. Also you should brush hair off the clippers and oil them at least every 10 minutes. It also helps to keep the clippers cool! 😉👍

Bear is like “where are my headphones?” 😂. He’s such a lovely colour, I have three minis and they’re lovely to clip, I never bother with legs or heads coming into winter, too fiddly. I usually end up with half a bin bag full of fluff from each one. I kneel down to clip mine, they’re way to small for my back to cope with. Lovely to see Chase, he’s like “mmmnn, Bear you smell so nice”. Anyone else wanted to have hands that went through the screen to fix the front of Chase’s rug? 😂😂❤️🇩🇰. Please don’t dye Macho’s mane. ❤
