I just....the mom of the seven year old kind of crossed a line. I can see where she’s coming from and everything but if she had simply said she just couldn’t take care of him and he would have more live in the home it would have been fine. Instead she’s calling him potato, cucumber etc and he has 0 control over what’s happening and she just lets her other son beat him up while watching. It’s okay to not be able to take care of a loved one but abusing them cause they’re difficult or different is just not okay and I’m sure it’s better at the home anyways. It’s so wrong

honestly the second story just made me sad, for the 3 of them, lost their father, the older son basically lost almost all his happiness, the youngest verbally abused, and the mom feeling like her son is a burden. it’s obvious family issues and mental health are a big part in this story. it would be best for her to put him into the residential home, and if i felt like my life was being taken away, honestly, i hate to say this, but i would probably put him into the home too, for mine and his health.

I think it was the second story or whatever story had the disabled 7 year old here is my opinion. If I were you I probably would have had the son put in a special care center. Someone of the names you called him were mean because it isn’t his fault. However I wouldn’t cut him out of my life I would still visit but I would also move on with my life. I would take time for myself and time for me to spend with the older boy and time for us to mourn. Then I would get back on track follow my dreams have the other son follow his dreams to. But I wouldn’t give up hope because who knows that kid could be brilliant and I would want the opportunity to be proud and be in his life. I am not judging your decisions this is just my opinion on the matter hope this is helpful.

Girl, if I heard someone doing that to their own child I would give them a piece of my mind. I see more future/success in the kid more than the mom. If she's just watching her own child get beat up then it really shows how much she loves him. It really shows that she has given up on him. It really shows how much hatred she has for him. It really shows her personality. If I was her I would ask my parents for help, friends, anything but if she just watches her own child get beat up she isn't supposed to be a mom. Take both kids away from her as she's not ready to be a mom. If I was her and if it was getting really really bad and no other option, I would take off life support so he doesn't have to suffer just to live a horrible life. Isn't this child neglect? Regarding the mom with the special needs child in the beginning I understood where she was coming from taking care of a child with special needs can be a lot for some people and if you can't handle that responsibility then you shouldn't make the child suffer because of your inability, however the names she called him were just horrific and the fact that she openly said she saw her son abusing her disabled son and she didn't stop it immediately is absolutely disgusting.

Story 2: There’s a lot of opinions on this, the older son hitting his brother was awful, but his life is being ruined. I don’t blame the 7yr old at all, it wasn’t his decision to have these issues so acting like it is all of his fault is completely wrong. The mother is going to be left with a lot of guilt and while I feel like she is wrong to blame everything wrong in her life on her son, I feel bad for her and see where she’s coming from. The way the mother described her 7 year old was sad and disappointing. But think if you were in the 7 year olds position. In pain, not being able to communicate or move. It’s torture. What would be the point of living? Since the kid cant communicate he cant express what he’s feeling and what he wants it would be hard for person or family to take care of them. And you cant just keep them alive because you feel bad and you want to help, kids/people like that cannot be helped. It’s a difficult situation but I feel the kid should be put down. The second story was messed up, I have a brother that has cancer my mom spends 24/7 time on him, I still love him with my heart, if she doesn't want the child, give him up for adoption, someone out there would LOVE to take care of the child. My take on story 2: It is horrible that she called him those names and worse that she let him get beat up by his own family, but I also see why she wants him gone. He caused the other son to lose his father. I know the son didn't ask for this, and the parents surely didn't, either, but it is what it is, I'll say that right now. The now single mother gave up her dreams for a child who is basically a robot and requires endless time and money that she probably doesn't have. The other sibling is losing his chances to participate in his hobbies since there isn't any time. The mother doesn't love the special needs kid, and I understand that. People tend to be kinder to others they actually know, rather than strangers. She knew him for 7 years, and he didn't know her. He had no personality, and therefore, she didn't REALLY know him. Obviously, the brother doesn't like the 7 y/o either, and I think it's a good option to put him in a different home. I hope he has a good life, even if he doesn't understand what's happening, and I'm not completely on board with the mother's actions, but I would probably also rehome him, given the circumstances.

Mother of the 7 year old. Maybe try and find some HELP FOR HIM BUT STILL TAKE CARE OF HIM?! You are a monster. He didn't take your husband or your other son's father, the father died of an apparent suicide but was there a reason actually known or did you just assume it was the youngest son's fault? You could've just asked or help instead of choosing to abandon him and forget about him. Maybe meet someone who could help or contact a help line but not this. I'm surprised, i bet we all are.
