To the story about the picky eater, as a parent I completely understand. My daughter is also a picky eater and it definitely sounds like an eating disorder . . . or she could just have a mild reaction towards the food itself. I think the father is doing just that . . . being a father. Most parents would force their kids to eat the food and like it, this in turn would worse the already existing eating disorder. But its clear that this man truly cares, as for the wife . . . well, given the budget that they have I don't see how they can't make 1.5K last a month whereas I can manage 2 weeks worth of meals on $100. I feel like the wife was doing more with her grocery money if not excessively spending on snacks for her son. But hey, I'm not him . . . just calling it how I see it.

Story 1: not the ahole. If i were having a wedding, I would not tolerate anybody proposing to anybody else. Not even my sibilings. I think it was totally appropriate to cut him off. Picky eater story: i can understand how the daughter feels, I'm sort of a picky eater myself. I have an autism so certain texters really effect what food I eat, I cannot stand some textures and my parents never force me to eat food they know I don't like. I've tried just getting over it but its very difficult and makes me feel sick when eating those foods. Its good that op is putting his daughter first and not just ignoring or downloading the situation.

The wife could have also told the husband and he was more than willing to make the daughter's food for the day, the daughter was most likely scared to tell her fathe as we were toldr. And as we were told she was more than willing to go with her to go buy food, also she is a minor and is not responsible for providing for herself
