I loved how the person in the office explained how much it costs, in US Dollar terms, to travel a kilometer on the Suburban Railway. It goes to show just how obsessed we are with mathematics!
@ajaychandar9211 жыл бұрын
It takes some getting used to, but once you have begun doing it on a daily basis, you wouldn't want to use any other mode of transport.

@eyestoenvy before commuters enter the platform, there is a ticket counter from where they can purchase tickets. Regular commuters use monthly passes. Also, there are officers called TC who randomly board trains and check for any offenders. You won't believe, but out of the millions of commuters traveling everyday maybe less than 5% travel without a ticket.

@paraaxis quality does not matter, if you want to get somewhere fast, if u want quality, you need time, and traffic is horrible and takes 10 times as long as a train

+Ayush Meena Yes, it is very beautiful , but it's beauty is not just in the eyes, it is the culture and the people.It is subjective. I see how much has changed in the last 20 years and it has lost a lot to corporate dictatorship change. Never change! Stay yourselves , it is YOU who make India so great !

But how is the fare collected? I just see people boarding the trains like mad men, and people obviously crossing the tracks & there for trespassing onto the platform... how is the money made...?? Anyone? This is a GREAT documentary though, i love trains, and every great city around the world depend on them... (though ours are so dam expensive - regionally)
