Im a BB main monkey myself, and goddamn i wish more BBs had Citadels you can hit reliably. It would be less frustrating to shoot at, and mistakes would be punishable so people might learn a thing or 2.

I still remember the USN BBs having a vulnerable citadel, like a solid few metres above the water line. Would've much rather taken a faster rudder shift or DFAA over getting the citadel lowered.

overmatch is such a fucked mechanic it's crazy. on one Hand cruisers get their arses handed to them everytime a bb monk gets lucky enough (or plays shit like Satsu) and you just get to recieve the massive d. but on the other hand If you were to remove it, bbs wouldn't be able to kill a nose-in cruiser in like a 100 years. idk maybe reduce the damage the steeper the angle so you can still deal dmg but not two-shot stuff like a desmo? or don't allow citadels if a shell previously traveled through armor at a greater than 75° angle? at least make every bb either a complete tank with bad guns or a one-klick-one-shot bullshit machine that blows up If you touch it. for example st. vincent: just walks up to you in desmo and blows you up for free bc you're never going to kill that thing - like huh?

Actually, that might be a really good change. Sure, you can overmatch-- but it eats a massive amount of fuse timer, so overmatch shots are extremely unlikely to get citadels. Small thing to reduce frustration on light cruisers as well-- larger calibre overpens that exit under the waterline can cause Flooding and Incapacitations.

only a few BB's should have it. so it's their "speciality". now, no one cares cuz 80% of the bbs have 457mm and overmatch 30mm. less overmatch means bbs need better positioning to get good shots. your idea isn't bad, but the problem is even if you don't citadel, something like vermont can get like 5 pens on a nose in cruiser and still do 15k+. I get why ships like kremlin or yamato have overmatch or even vermont, but why does Bungo have it, why does Repub have it, why does St Vincent have it, etc. The devs don't really care, they either do great things (balanced subs pretty hard by preventing shotgunning) or terrible things (most superships, shit ton of overmatch, instead of adding new maps keep adding more supers/subs). just my take on the issue.
