SATURDAY OF THE SECOND WEEK OF ADVENT
Gospel
(Mt 17:10-13)
As they were coming down from the mountain,
the disciples asked Jesus,
"Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?"
He said in reply, "Elijah will indeed come and restore all things;
but I tell you that Elijah has already come,
and they did not recognize him but did to him whatever they pleased.
So also will the Son of Man suffer at their hands."
Then the disciples understood
that he was speaking to them of John the Baptist.
The Gospel of the Lord: Praise to You, Lord Jesus Christ.
The Word of God for Everyone
Dear People of God,
In today's Word of God, God tells the disciples about the image of John the Baptist that he is the incarnation of Elijah, the prophet who came to prepare the way for the Savior.
As a prophet of God, we will certainly encounter suffering, persecution, imprisonment, and condemnation.
God reveals that when the prophet Elijah came into the world to convey God's will to all mankind, mankind did not accept him and sought to kill him.
Then, when John the Baptist was the forerunner, the messenger who prepared the way for the Savior who would come to the world to become a human being, John the Baptist himself was also condemned and persecuted for living a righteous and upright life.
John the Baptist proclaimed the word of God to humanity, but he was also condemned and killed because of the misunderstanding and weakness of humanity before God's love. God bestowed love on all humanity, yet humanity rejected it and turned a deaf ear to it.
Therefore, God wants to remind humanity today to listen to and put into practice the word of God conveyed through the prophets, through the messengers that God sent to humanity in today's world.
God chose and placed the plan at The House of God the Father in Bao Loc so that the Word of God could be given to all humanity and repeat the Word of God, which is Jesus Christ. That is the word of God manifest through the hands of Chu Thien Thuong, under the influence of the Holy Spirit.
God lets all humanity know that God's love covers the entire world; He is not limited to any place or person. Therefore, those chosen by God must live right and follow what God teaches. Then God's love will be shown in that person, and through that, God's love will be given to all humanity.
Furthermore, God also reminds humanity that those who are living and working in the plan of God will also encounter suffering, condemnation, and persecution; but look at the cross of the Son of God. He also suffered, was condemned, and was killed.
As a result, the Word of God today calls on all humanity to listen to and carry out God's will, which is shown through those chosen by God who are working in His plan of salvation under the era of the Holy Spirit.
Thanks be to God. Amen
