I think that you can still have goals like you have, as long as they are focused around your family and relationships, which glorifies God. Having a cabin in the woods if you have the means is fine if you use it to connect with your family and share God’s message and intentions with your family. I agree that we shouldn’t need worldly things to feel fulfilled. But if you are able to, it can be used to glorify Him. I think it’s okay to enjoy life as long as we are living morally. We used to go to the local deli every Sunday after church. We’d go home and have big lunch meat sandwiches on Kaiser rolls and then we’d all take naps. We’d have lunch meat for the rest of the week after that.

Your Sunday doesn’t look any different than our non Mennonite Christian Sunday’s. We grew up with huge family meals after church. Now we live far away but I still keep those traditions for my kids. Congratulations on the new baby!

You don’t have to add celery. I make one with kale, blueberries, lemon and ginger. It’s amazing and simple to make.

@@s.s.1704 sure. For more of a green juice… 3 cups of kale, 1/2 cup of blueberries 1 lemon and I small piece of fresh ginger. If not sweet enough I add a drop or 2 of stevia. I also love this other version… 2 cups kale, I cup of blueberries 1/4 cup lemon juice and 1 tbsp of grated ginger. Add stevia if not sweet enough but it’s usually good without it. This version comes out more berry like than green. Similar tastes. They are both so delicious. You can add more ginger if you like or any of the other ingredients. Or use mixed berries if you like. It’s so versatile. Enjoy!!!

Good reminder, thank you. In Colossians 3 it say to "If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God." It can be tricky for us to navigate through life- it's good to have motivation and passion and excitement for what we do and hope to do. But we do need to be very careful that the temporal things are not captivating our hearts so that God is left on the wayside. 🙏

The "candy salad" looks like a typical Swedish Saturday snack :D We have pick and mix candy in almost every grocery store and people pick bags of their favorite candy and just mix it all in a bag (and some you it in a bowl) and eat...

I have seen a demonstration of similar thoughts by using rocks & sand. You fill a bottle with sand ( your life) & then add the rocks ( taking moments to be holy, Christlike etc into the bottle /container which stands for your day. You will never be able to fit the rocks. But if you use the same amount of rocks (Godliness) first then add the same amount of sand into it & you will find it fits in perfectly. I think we enjoy being “Martha’s & not Mary’s.” Loved your sermonette. “” “Only one thing is needful “

If you think you would get into juices I would recommend a Nama J2 juicer. Yes it’s pricey but will in time pay for itself instead of buying store bought juices. Just a suggestion. I’ve done a ton of juicing and it’s really an amazing juicer and is simple to use.

I've been praying to the lord that he would show me how to keep him in the front of my thought life instead of just mixed in through every thing else. I really needed to hear that. I believe in living in the moment and that means to be aware of what you’re doing in the moment a 100% … so when you’re with your children … be a 100% … or tell them you’re doing something else, right! I don’t believe in a personal God but I’m sure that with my brain I can’t make out what life is all about and so I just look at it in wonder …call it meditation… brings a lot of peace and gratefulness because we actually own nothing as it can be taken away anytime as you’ve been told at your sermon.The grace and all the real riches are in our hearts ;forever❤️

I like using a nutri bullet as they get it super smooth and try removing stems and just rip off leaves to make it less fibrous. I prefer smoothies with peaches, banana and berries.

If you use a large strainer into a bowl with a lip on it, makes everything A LOT easier for the juice. Also using that lime juice may make it taste a little off!
