Yeah...but the Democratic party isn't 'left' anymore. They just say they are without actually practicing progressive, liberal OR even moderate politics. They are just as Corporate, Elite, Establishment and Pro-War as the Republicans...if not more so in some categories (AHEM...TPP); the only difference is that the Republicans don't pretend otherwise. So we know we'll be disappointed when a Republican is nominated...and we end up being disappointed when a Democrat is nominated. That's the reality of the current U.S. political system and, since we enable it...the powerful will continue shifting it in their favor...which is further right.
